All Hansen could say was 'he's certainly fast'. Then when they went on to talk about the title run in he highlighted the big game as Liverpool v. Chelsea.

John Motson really is a fucking awful commentator these days..

his need to shout all the fucking time is really unnecessary

For me it was when he said something along the lines of 'is there a better all round player in the premier league than Robbie Keane?'

Now i love keano but, yeah, there is.

That's a pity because I didn't see the game and it's not on Football First because it was an ESPN game. I suppose I'll have to d/l it

And his name is Gareth Bale  Left foot winner against Arsenal, right foot winner against Chelsea, headed winner against Man U? Now that would have to be better than a perfect hat-trick surely.

MOTD highlights did not do that game or the atmosphere justice. :-(

Really ? ... i thought it did us justice tbh ... they even said Spurs cud have won by 4 or 5 goals. I always watch MOTD even when iv watched the game live on sky.espn. Im sure they commenterd on how good the atmosphere was.

I thought Shearer gave us due respect which makes a nice change from Gray & co on Sky.
I'm sure Gray's highlite of the weekend apart from Scholes will be a feature on Tim cahill and he might mention Chelsea got beat.

I want to know how Lineker got back from Barbados - That's wot they said in the paper this morning about him being stuck.

Not quite Barbados

Presenter Gary Lineker made the Match of the Day line-up on Saturday night - but only after enduring a near 24-hour journey from Tenerife to London.
Lineker, who was on holiday with his family when the Icelandic volcanic ash closed closed UK airspace, arrived back with only about two hours to spare.
He had flown to Madrid, driven to Paris and caught a Eurostar train to London.
Opening the BBC One highlights show, the ex-footballer said some fixtures were worth going the "extra mile" for.
He said: "Every now and then Match of the Day throws up a bunch of fixtures so enticing that you would go the extra mile to ensure you didn't miss it, and trust me that is certainly the case this week."
'Sleep for England'
On a day that featured the Manchester derby and a London derby between Spurs and Chelsea, he added: "We have games of volcanic proportions."
The former England striker told the Mail on Sunday it was the first time he had presented a show having missed watching all the afternoon games, but the important thing was he had made it.
"It was like one of those impossible challenges they have on Top Gear," he said.
"I didn't have much chance to shut my eyes properly before the show - but I am going to sleep for England on Sunday."
Lineker said his wife Danielle, daughter Ella, eight, and his sons George, 18, Harry, 17, Tobias, 14, and Alex, 12, had "kept each other going" during the 2,050-mile (3,311 km) journey by singing songs.
A BBC spokeswoman said: "He did dash back and he got there. It was a very commendable effort to get himself on air."
Presenter Clare Balding had also driven back from Switzerland to present Saturday's Super League rugby and sports commentator Jonathan Pearce had driven back from France, she added.

He's still a slimey git with an unnecessarily hot wife though.

I assumed that he didn't see the game which us why his only comment was that Bale was fast and he left it to Shearer to give us our props. Hansen is probably just upset Liverpool won't be playing European football next season.

what was chelsea's goal disallowed for?

i presumed offside - but wasn't sure -

i was too busy shouting at the chelsea to 'sit down' to think too much about the reasons at the time

Oh yeah you were there, no replays. It was offside, and a good decision too, fair play to the linesman for not bottling a major decision.
