6th place will also get UEFA cup football if we win it this year :)

Are you sure? I thought that the winners are allowed to defend the trophy if they haven't qualified otherwise, but it doesn't affect the league positions.

According to my Villa mate, its only if we play Everton in the final and Everton finish fifth, then sixth will be ok for europe.
If not sixth will get it through the Intertoto I expect.

This is clearly being made up as it goes along.

What next? 6th place qualifies if their goal difference is exactly the number of women slept with by Peter Scudamore? 7th gets it, too, if they can do an obstacle course with a football sellotaped to their nose and making a whooping sound? 8th place, you have to fart the theme tune to 'Rumpole of the Bailey' while hopping around like rabbits in Sepp Blatters front garden.

I reckon Ar5ena1 should not be allowed to enter under an English banner, no English players and they can take a French Ligue 1 place instead.

Yes, but only if the FA request it. The winners do not automatically qualify. A bit stupid but that's the rules.

From Wiki:

If the previous UEFA Cup title-holders are not eligible to take part in either of the current UEFA club competitions (UEFA Champions League or UEFA Cup) by virtue of their domestic form, the UEFA Administration may, at the request of the association of the club concerned, admit this club to the current UEFA Cup competition. Its participation will not be at the expense of the contingent of its association.

I'm not entirely convinced of this, though, because I posted something similar last year when it was looking unlikely that we'd qualify via the league and someone else replied that the request of the association was no longer necessary.
