Some of the comments on here are infinitely more racist than the sign in which they are complaining about.

5 blokes hold up a marginally offensive sign at a football match so that must mean the entire clubs fanbase, majority of the nation and pretty much the whole of the Balkans are a group of Jew, black and Muslim hating skinheads.....hmmm......where have I seen this kind of stereotyping before?

The sign was in bad taste and intended to offend but in true Daily Mail fashion is has been blown out of all proportions - comments like this....
it does bother me, sadly, within my lifetime, I have seen Serbs put Catholics and Muslims into concentration camps . there is no politic that explains that at all.. thats just being barbaric scum
Do not help.

The fact is, they really haven't been that offensive however, it is wrong and they should be punished accordingly.

Its just sad that such a great game of football gets overshadowed by an 80s television show reference.

I posted this on the front page news thread:
Not sure about this. I feel like this is offensive but im not sure how or on what level. Strange.
Is it anti jew? Well no, not really. It says only jews and pussies, implying what? Perhaps that spurs are full of jews and pussies? Is that anti Jew? Again not sure.
Is the implication that being a jew is bad? Is calling someone a jew derogatory? What about Only christians and pussies, that that give it a different perspective or more clarity? Is it that jews are equated with pussies? I dont think this is as clear cut as other incidents.
Yes it's that, equating an ethnic group to pussies.

It was a remarkably well made banner and I do not believe a small group would go to all that trouble and expense to display their work just once (twice if they bring it to whl...).

I feel FK Partizan sponsored it or allowed their ultras (or whatever they call themselves) to produce and display it prominently. If UEFA think it is offensive then it is fully justified that the club take the full hit for any fine. It is not the work of a few individuals imo.

My first thoughts on seeing it were that it was 'remarkably well made'. Bravo on workmanship, boo on sentiment.

Of course it is Mullers! But not everybody judging by yesterday's example understands that 'intention'. So although I personally have little or no problem with 'yid army' as it is 'intended'. I would not use it as its encourages incidences like yesterday.

Yid army is a/was just a football chant. Which has been hijacked by many on all sides of the argument and blown out of all proportion.
I agree with you Steven.

In all seriousness, mate. I am shocked.

I thought Eastern Europeans loved London folk... since most of them move there.

There is no confusing that it was derogatory. It is clear cut.

lol First part of your question is a valid point, and I am hoping that we will get some answers soon (our police did decent job recently with some trickier cases). This conclusion is a joke.

Do you think Partizan are doing enough to combat racism in their ground?

Fine the club. The club should in turn ban the fans responsible. But don't ban the club...yet. If they look like they are attempting to stamp out that kind of display, then give them time to do it. If it's a continual occurrence, with no discernible intervention from the club, then revisit the idea of banning them.

I'd hate for Spurs to be banned from a competition because some bozos turned up with an offensive flag one game.

To the non-Jews saying "I don't know why Jews were offended"- please be quiet.

I'm Jewish and I was offended and I know other Jews who were offended.

The intent of the banner was to offend Jewish fans of the clubs- it's pretty clear.

In the bit that you quoted the poster was talking about his experience. Yes it was only 5 people holding up a racist sign but there is a history there, so it's inevitable that discussion will broaden more.

That's not really the point though is it?

Calling someone 'black' isn't a racist slur, but if you called him a 'black twat' then it is.

The inference from the sign was that the pussyness is linked to the Jewishness, and whether that's what they meant or not that's how it was always going to be perceived.
No it wasn't, The sign didn't say Jews are pussy's, it said Jews AND Pussies. They were taking the piss out of us supporters, nothing more.
