People are really getting too emotional on here. The only game that we deserved to lose was against the Scum. West Brom we should have won with the amount of possession and chances created and the same against Leicester. On another day we would have hit Leicester for another 6 with the opportunities that we messed up. People need to calm down. West Brom literally only had 2 chances and put one away, same with Leicester. Now all of a sudden the team is too tired or players are now rubbish. But against Dortmund everyone was great. We will have a few more games like Leicester and West Brom, we just need to stick by the team through it. #COYS

One game on an isolated basis can very well be decided by pure chance and be "undeserved". A bunch of matches on an aggregated basis is not about "accidents" and "what we deserved". We are not playing better than what we are at the moment, and that's OK to be worried about.

Spot on. NLD is only game we’ve really deserved to lose and but for a dodgy ref that could have been very different.

Agree we shouldn't over-react. At the same time we can't just pretend there are no issues either.

Since the Liverpool game we've taken 4 points from a possible 15 in the league. Not great. It isn't all down to being unlucky either.

No need to panic but we really need to improve and quickly. A defeat against Watford at the weekend and we'll be in a crisis IMO.

Hopefully we can turn it around.

I agree there is no need to panic but I am a bit fed up with the, "the ref was shit" or "we should of won" we need to start games at the first whistle instead of having to go a goal behind before we pull our finger out. Look at United this season, putting 3-4 goals past teams, and we have a squad as good as theirs surely?

Very imperative. I agree we are in no need for a mass meltdown. But we must face reality. Reality these days is that we are wasting matches due to a lack of initial urgency and desire. We can't throw away the game for the first 60 minutes, and then suddenly start to care. We are simply not good enough to win by chilling out for the first half. It's OK to be critical, looking at the long-term perspective. We aren't unlucky in the grand scheme of things. We are unwilling, and unable.

Also look at City. Yes they are playing great but also they are getting a massive amount of luck at moment. Sterling with 3 last gasp winners 2 incredible lucky. Kompany should have a red V Leicester. Apparently it evens out over season we will see. Still maintain you need a good amount of luck to win PL. Leicester had it and so did Chelsea.

Even Pochettino himself thinks that we have been playing poorly, criticising the effort of the team. Why can't people accept that we have a real problem to sort out, not just "luck". It's important to note that stats about possession and shots don't win games, as we very well have proven ourselves this season. Possession doesn't directly mean "the better team".

The margins are so tight at the top of the table these days. We've just squandered our opportunities in a relatively easy run of games. Top 4 now would be a tremendious achievement IMO. Wasn't expecting miracles this season anyway, but we're way off the pace at the moment.

You don't think that we were unfortunate to not win against Leicester?

While I’m not panicking yet. It doesn’t matter how well we play if we are losing and drawing games that we should be winning.

4 points out of 15 is pretty poor for us and we need to do better.

From looking over this thread we're all in somewhat of an agreement. There's no need to panic as such. There's no need to overeact and say all is over and hope is lost or anything as crazy as that. We're so far from that. But by that same token we can also see it's not all working right.

I think a lot of people tend to deal with extremes. It's either all going amazingly or all going terribly. There's not much middle ground. We're currently in the middle ground. Not going great but nowhere near a disaster.

I don't really agree with the 'if we'd taken our chances...' cries over the last couple of days. If we were doing everything right apart from sticking the ball in the back of the net then yeah ok maybe it is bad luck, but finishing chances (in this game) just adds to the various facets of the game that we have been struggling with recently.

It's not really an overreaction though is it?

Not when this poor run of form has knocked us out the title race completely before December.

We've had a very sudden and dramatic change in fortune at a time when those around us have been consistent. At end of October, ahead of game at OT, we were 3rd and level on points with United, 5 behind City - everything looked good. Now, at the end of November we have slipped to 7th, 8 points behind United and 16 behind City.

I know we've secured our CL top spot and have just come through a tough run of games but we need to get back on track very quickly.

We've dropped off for sure. It's fine margins but you can see we're not pressing collectively as much. It's also very noticeable that we keep starting games in a lethargic way and its setting a poor tone for the rest of the game.

We were poor against Palace and won. There was some improvement against Leicester and we really didnt deserve to lose it but we were poor against West Brom, just not enough tempo in our game, on and off the ball.

We need to get back to winning that ball high up the pitch, defending from the front and disrupting the oppositions shape with overloads. That's been our DNA under Poch and that's what has evaded our game in the last month or so.

We get that back and we'll be looking up again.

I think us finishing second is more likely than us finishing sixth. I just wouldn’t write this team off yet. How many times have they come from behind to win games or stuck in there as title challengers when everyone else has given up.

If the other teams write us off it will be at their peril. Remember that we’ve been at our best over the last 24/30months when under the radar. Well, we are there again so let’s sneak back up there.
