No point getting Torres now that we have Lenglet IMO.

Would rather Bremer or Ndicka.

Then hopefully go back in for Gvardiol or Bastoni next summer.
This is my thought too. Can't imagine that we'd take a cheap option in Lenglet, then spend lots on Torres as well. Have to think that Lenglet is just keeping LCB warm for Bastoni or Gvardiol next year.

Obviously money talks, but pretty much every quote from Torres, whether from this summer or last, point to a player really happy at Villareal and in no rush to leave Spain.

Based on that, the City, Barca, Madrid comments make a lot of sense. If his life is great and he's happy, why rush to leave unless the very top clubs want you? If he comes to Spurs Levy will have him under lock and key in his peak years, whereas if he bides his time he could stay in Spain and end up at one of the Spanish giants before long.

No point in having a strong squad, with lots of competition for places, to compete in 4 competitions?

I don't get this sort of 'old Tottenham' mindset. Don't we want to aspire to more?

If you look at my post I didn't say not sign another CB?

I said go for another type as they're both too similar.

I don't think that's what he was getting at at all - he meant they're similar

Personally I have no idea

If we're getting Lenglet we really don't need a third left sided defender.

Both Torres and Lenglet is a bit of a strange one for me. Unless of course Conte is thinking that I want 6 centre backs, 3 right footed 3 left footed. Although that would seem a bit arbitrary. Would either of those two excel playing in the central role? I suppose Dier and Torres have some similarities apart from aggression in the air but that's about it.
Is Torres aggressive in the air then?

He's on loan though right, has suffered a bit of a drop in form and made some regrettable mistakes in games. It might not work out so why not bring someone else in too (also more warm bodies = stronger squad). If it works out for both great and Leggy could be made perm. If he doesn't then we'd have someone else and he can go back to Barca and we don't get our pants pulled down over 'needing' to buy someone else and Utd etc don't sniff around PT et al.

We're not big enough for him to move from Villareal for. (In his eyes)

Here we are trying to convince ourselves this guy may be a suitable addition and the shitbird thinks he’s too good for us.

We have to trust Conte - he obviously believes he can get Lenglet back to his best. There's no point bloating the squad unnecessarily.

Classic spurs, it happens so much to us.
To be fair, it happens to any team who are upwardly mobile - it is what it is, but I think a very real outcome of this window is we just get Lenglet in defence and Spence at RWB. And we save money for when the right player becomes available.
