Paulinho out, Lukaku in.

Then look for a deep lying central midfielder who can pass the ball (Modric/Pjanic type).

Next season:

........Capoue...New Cm.......

Lamela....Eriksen.....Chadli

..............Lukaku...............

Lewis Holtby

Lewis Holtby

I like Holtby and he has great energy but I'm not convinced he's got the composure or ability to spread the ball about like Huddlestone and Modric did.

I would definitely keep him but I see him more as a back up or someone to use when we need a goal/to shut up shop.

Carroll could potentially fill Modric's boots but it's a hell of a lot of responsibility to put on a youngsters shoulders.

I would be happy with a pool of:

Sandro
Capoue
Bentaleb

New Cm
Holtby
Carroll

Eriksen

swap Paulinho, sell Sig and hit and miss, bad attitude, injury prone Dembele.

Not too bothered by this link. Only way it would happen is if they sold us Lukaku i'd have to think

A good option but I think we would need our new left back to be fast and capable of giving 100% all game if we our going to have a lack of pace in midfield :)

I'd happily play Konopylanka if we sign him. If not, Chadli has enough ability to do well for us.

JUST IN: Lancenet! reporter Bruno Andrade now says Giuliano Bertolucci is negotiating Paulinho to Chelsea, but Tottenham want €35 million.

Bruno Andrade is extremely reliable when it comes to Paulinho, He called the deal last summer.

I like Paulinho and think, in the right system, with the right players around him, could be immense. I'm also worried that he had his bedding in period with us and will be great for the Chavs. If the new manager didn't rate him, or thought he could spend that money getting in some he needs (LWF, LB, CM who can pass, STR) then I would be OK with it. DOn't *really* want him to go though

I agree, he will be a success in the Premier League, I like Paulinho he reminds me of Suarez (kinda) in his first season, getting in great positions but cannot score to save his life. But if £30Mish is offered we will be foolish to not accept and Chelsea most likely view him as a Lampard successor.

Would take a straight swap for lukaku to be honest. I like the upside of paulinho but lukaku's is even greater at the age of 20. Plus we need a striker that can deliver the goods for years to come more than a box to box midfielder.

Why don't we wait until the new manager is announced? He may decide he wants to keep Pauli, As far as I am concerned, Timmy should not be involved with any departures.

It's a load of rubbish. If we are looking to sell any of our internationals then DL will wait until after the WC. If Paulinho puts in a good show and scores a few goals you can bet Levy will double the asking price.

I've got a weird feeling Paulinho will score 3 or 4 at this WC. Late, well timed runs against tired European legs in that heat, could be effective.
