Seems a very strange reason for the transfer not to go ahead ('cos Juve want a replacement lined up) given all the other obstacles that needed overcoming (and were overcome by all accounts).

Thought Juve were the ones who decided he was surplus to requirements and wanted him out ?

Feel this one might have more twists in it, but if it doesn't go ahead then we couldn't really have done any more could we.

Maybe before Utd came in with a big wad of cash for Mandzukic

If (and a massive if) Dybala does sign for us I wouldn’t be surprised to see Eriksen go to Juve in the next few weeks as the replacement they want, and for an undisclosed fee.

Honestly I still feel there’s a chance. I feel like the news IGI initially received filtered through to everyone and the media. The fact IGI deleted gives me hope. But I’m clutching

They still have Higuain and Ronaldo at the club too. Not like they have no one. Selling their promising young striker seemed mental in the first place, but now it just sounds bizarre given that reasoning. Wtf is going on?
This is the point where they demand Kane in return.

I'm sure most of the on/off is just bullshit and people guessing. You stick a tweet out with some 'info' today and it's bound to get likes, retweets and followers as a result.

If JJ doesn't know then no-one knows imo - will just wait til 5 and see what happens :nailbiting:

Can't see it. They don't seem to want an AM, they want a striker who they can pair with Ronaldo

Eriksen doesn't fit into Sarri's system whatsoever though.

Weak excuse imo unless they want someone from the PL.
They can still buy someone from the PL, just a bit harder as that club needs a replacement. But they can buy any striker in the world. It’s bollocks.

The argument they want a replacement doesn’t add up. Maybe they’ve got cold feet? Seems crazy when they have sold Kean who would have been the ideal one to step in for him and right under their noses.

Totally agree but you'd of thought we could of intensified the negotiations earlier had our desire been really strong to bring this guy in.

They've clearly reached those intensified levels in the last 24 hours.
At the end of the day this deal would obviously be a coup for us. A signing a level above what the club could normally hope to attract, much like VDV was back in his day. If it had proven at all possible to sort this out earlier then he'd probably be preparing for his debut at Madrid or PSG. It's the fact that it is so complex, so hard to negotiate, and has to be done at the last minute when incentives to come to a deal are at their greatest which means we're in with a shot. Fingers crossed we pull it off, it'd be sensational for us, but as Spurs fans we always live in hope rather than expectation!
