If agent fees are preventing deals happening it kinda nullifies the point of having an agent in the first place

Is that perhaps a miscommunication, as his old agent is the one whose company owns his image rights?

It's a shitty situation though, hope Dybala gets it resolved at some point even if it doesn't matter so much in other European leagues.

Image Star could go away thinking however many millions now or several years of litigation and no guaranteed outcome. This may not be over yet.

If Dybala doesn't happen it'll leave a bittersweet taste even if GLC and Sess get done. If Levy has gone this far down the road with Dybala, it'll get done. He'll back Poch.

I think we are beyond clutching at straws now. Shame, not surprising, but no less disappointing

I don't think so. IMO Ndombele was the massive one this signing alone is an improvement on the squad and Poch primary target if we conclude with Lo Celso and Sessegnon and Eriksen leaves we have still improved
Ndombele is a Dembele replacement. Our midfield always looked weaker and short once he left, even with the Sissoko rising to GOAT levels. Lo Celso is no where even close to replacing Eriksen. People down play the shit outta Eriksen's influence. We need 2 players to replace it. Sessegnon exciting, but not fully ready yet.

With just this business, this window will only be a massive side step, imo.
And I can argue, that'll we'll actually be weaker too (with Eriksen saga, Trips, and Llorente leaving too).

This would always go to the wire, if you are the image rights company you hold all the cards. Juve want him gone, we want to sign him, Dybala wants to come and everything else seems agreed. You aren't just going to roll over and accept the first offer that gets thrown at you.

Rafael says hi.

I beg of you Spurs Community, can we just stay positive for three hours? Then you can call me a dickhead. It's fine. But can we do a deal?
Can I call you a dickhead if I'm positive about it?

It's sad as it feels like this was a VDV-esque situation, with Levy really trying to get someone special for Poch as he did for Harry.

The Delaney piece re potential loan:

Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus are exploring the possibility of a loan deal with an obligation to buy for Paulo Dybala, as a permanent deal before the 5pm deadline is now seen as impossible.

The issue of the player's image rights have proven a huge complication, and would still make any temporary deal very difficult, but all sides are working hard to try and make it happen.

All terms have otherwise been agreed, with Juventus keen to sell due to their wage-turnover ratio and the fact there is now no clear place for Dybala in Maurizio Sarri's team.

The player is also willing to join Spurs, and especially Argentine compatriot Mauricio Pochettino, seeing them as a far more attractive prospect than Inter Milan.

Juventus will likely try to move Dybala to the San Siro if the English deadline passes with no deal
