Where on earth do people get the confidence that Eriksen is going to sign a new deal if Real don’t come in for him now? He’s literally 6 months away from being able to sign a pre-contract with any European giant he chooses because he’ll be free, and he’ll bag himself a huge signing on fee in the process. I would be astounded if he signed at this stage to be honest. The only small ray of hope is that he could have a gentleman’s agreement with Poch to try and bring the club some value, but realistically he wouldn’t be at all well advised to sign now. If he doesn’t go this window (and it’ll be for a fee far below what people are quoting in here) then I’m afraid we’re losing a huge amount of value next summer for free, but it is what it is.

Yep. It's a nightmare situation for us. It's probably what's caused everything to slow down in the last couple of weeks. I wonder if Eriksen will have one last meeting with Perez today and if no deal we'll give him a 'take it or leave it' contract offer with a reasonable release clause.

He's a massive flat track bully, a decent finisher and would run Serie A defences ragged. I reckon he'd bag a shitload over there.

No doubt he would but not really my point, they are gonna win the league anyway. He will do fuck all against top opposition in the CL. A big game player he is not. He does fuck all to bring others into play and has the first touch of a baby elephant. Ronny will rage so hard.

I just can't see Dybala in the famous lilywhite this season. There's absolutely no way we'd pay €80m after already going big on Ndombele and possibly Lo Celso. It all comes down to whether Juventus would be interested in Eriksen and/or Rose in a swap deal.
I just can't see Eriksen staying or extending his contract with us when he feels he's at the prime of his career and given his all for us. He can do a Ramsey, sign a pre-agreement in 6 months and get himself a massive signing on fee to sort his family out. We then have egg on our face and lose one of our most saleable assets for nothing. Levy is a smart man, here's hoping he's on the phone to Turin offering Eriksen + €20m-€30m for the little Argentine.

Lots of noise Dybala is going to United.

You have to wonder if we truly are incompetent in the market.

If United get Maguire and Dybala they will be much better next season. Arsenal strengthening too. Look at how quickly they’ve tied Pepe up. What on earth are we doing with GLC?

We’ve made one solitary proper signing...

Always lots of noise whenever Utd are linked with any high profile player. Let’s just wait and see where we end up.

Have we had a credible confirmation of our interest in Dybala? I remember seeing some emoji translators deciphering a JJ tweet but has anyone else actually come out and said 'Yes, we're interested.'

A lot of people are getting frustrated over a transfer that, from what I can see, has had little to no strong links outside of a couple of rag articles.

I'd be over the moon if I've missed something, however.

sure feels like that. certainly no 'new era' and 'big club mentality'. i just can't understand why we're not more aggressive. we created a very difficult situation for ourselves last summer, and we seem to repeat that mistake again this summer. are we really THAT specific in the players we want that there are no alternatives!? look at the scum moving on from zaha to pepe

i don't get it

Maguire really isn't all that, he's charitably the 9th best defender in the league and they'll still have OGS in charge until at least Christmas. Dybala wouldn't be able save them from their general dysfunction§

I think we are entirely justified to be pessimistic based on our recent transfer windows. NDombele was the bare minimum.

We were left so short last season in CM that many now think NDombele has made us stronger but really we are back to par at the minute depending on how we settles.

We certainly haven’t moved forward to close the gap on the top two.

You don't get it because you're not on the inside and don't actually have a clue what is or isn't going on.

It's like you and others expect us to behave like some nouveau riche, lottery winning idiot who walks into Ferrari on Berkeley Square, slaps down a sack full of cash and asks for a red one.

At the end of the day Utd can blow us out of the water financially if they see fit. I don't think you can call us incompetent if they are offering a fee and wages out of our reach. Since the Lukaku swap got mooted the price in Italian media has gone up to 100m from 80m. They've also been chasing Maguire for as long as we have Lo Celso with no joy.

If we were truly incompetent there's no way we could have signed Ndombele.

Maguire is a good defender and he will make them much more solid at the back. AWB is a solid RB and better than anything we have.

With all due respect you don’t have a clue what’s going on either. I could easily throw it back to you and say how do you know everything is going to be ok?

A few sources are saying Poch is really unimpressed yet again with our transfer business, we’ve still got loads of deadwood we can’t shift. This happened last summer around the same time and we signed nobody. What makes you so sure this time is different?

Even a blind man can hit a bullseye if he tries enough times, it doesn’t make him competent at it.

Yes we signed NDombele but as I said that’s simply making up for the non existent business last season which left us horribly weak and thin in CM all season, in essence that was last summers business completed a year late. What about the revolution Poch spoke about earlier this summer?

I'm concerned and frustrated too, just thought you went a bit OTT on us being incompetent if we don't land Dybala (who we don't even know if we are seriously in for).
