I can see Dybala being tempted by the project, will have fellow countrymen at the club, will share talisman status with our main man Harry.

If he pushes us on and makes us compete at the very top consistently it will improve his stock as a brand and player no end.

It's also low risk from Levy's point of view, if he "flops", he's spent market rate on a top player - its a normal calculated risk. If he shines and propels us forward his value skyrockets giving us a VERY valuable asset. He's younger than Kane with a similar ceiling.

Plus his middle name is Exequiel. How f**cking cool is that?

I’m feeling quietly confident about this because Jj hadn’t poopoo-ed it...yet

... unless he’s currently having a bout of constipation :(

Woke up like a few others to 23 pages of Dybala talk. Would love it. Right now I've the thought of the "Aguerrrrrrooooooo" commentary to win the league being replaced by "Dybaaaaalllllllllaaaaaaaa"!!

Just feels like one of those ones where, if he’s available, a bigger fish comes along. But then it felt like that with Ndombele and I don’t think any club has as big a draw as Poch right now.

Fuck knows.
This is a really good point I think. Outside of Pep, I'm really not sure there is a manager active atm that has a better reputation than Pochettino. I mean, even Klopp, despite beating him in the CL, is probably only level with him. There's a lot of warmth to him out there, even Arsenal fans have been known to say that despite everything they like him, and there's always talk in the media and from players about how much he's improved them and whatnot, which I think would be really important for players who really value their careers.

It's pretty much impossible to underestimate how important he is for the club atm. In a ways, internationally speaking at least, Spurs at times could be known as that club where Mauricio Pochettino is. It would have been devastating to lose him.

I just can't see us spending the money

If he was available for £80m, and we could sell Eriksen for £70m or so, then I could see it. Ultimately the players we've bought and are being linked with have significant sell on value because of their quality and age. The same goes for a lot of our squad, and the same applies to Dybala.

If you can sell a (rapidly) depreciating asset like Eriksen (assuming he doesn't sign a new contract) and buy someone like Dybala for £80m - in this market, that's good value - then that's a trade you'd make every day.

You have to assume Levy would apply the logic set out above. But, with the sheer quantity of spending going on elsewhere on our squad, it requires the difference between the outgoing Eriksen fee and incoming Dybala fee to be minimal.

Which is the issue - I think some of these fees being bandied about are low for Dybala, and (possibly, depending on his destination) high for Eriksen. Maye it £100m for Dybala and £50 for Eriksen and it's a non-starter.

The two would be linked IMO.

....also, it's Paulo Dybala...I'm just not letting myself get excited about that one

It's quite simple. If we add Lo Celso and Dybala to the squad we already have then we can realistically challenge Manchester City. However I think if we add Dybala then Eriksen will be sold just from a financial point of view. Alli will also have serious competition in all the positions that we have played him in.

I think we’d sell Lamela tbh

Immense if we get him but I am thinking the club leaked it to kill the whole Gareth Bale story. Have you seen how fast that thread went completely silent?

This just still smells so much of a "Betis you better get a jolly on" smoke screen.
You think? I'm not so sure. Completely different players.
Also this SHOWS Betis we have cash, why would we do that?
Does scream of Eriksen leaving though.
