to christmas carol 'away in a manger':

Ro-man Pavy-luchenko
He came from Moscow,
He once played for Spartak,
But now he's a yiddo.

The White Hart Lane faithful
Erupt as he scores,
The lanky blonde Russian -
He's Spurs to the core.

:)

Second verse admittedly out of hope!

cant we just keep it to our players?

Why do we always have to refer to other teams/players in our songs

But ether 'we've got' or 'lets go' work fine.

So does 'Roman', I've suddenly realised.

Pointless bringing Sheva into it as:

a) He's Ukrainian, not Russian
b) He's back in Milan

to the tune of 'lola' by the kinks:

he scores loads of goals and he does it for fun,
he's strong and he's fast and he's our number 1,
PAVVVV-LLLYYYUU-CHENKO
ROMAN PAVLYUCHENKO

That one and "Lets go forkin mental" ar inspired!

Just gone through this thread, and the leaders have to be:

- To the tune of 'Glory Glory'

'Nothing rhymes with Pavlyuchenko
Nothing rhymes with Pavlyuchenko
Nothing rhymes with Pavlyuchenko
So we can't sing a song about him
'

and,

- To the tune of 'Let's Go Fucking Mental'

a)

lets go Pavlyuchenko
lets go Pavlyuchenko
la la la la, la la la la
/(come on you Spurs, come on you Spurs)

b)

Roman Pavlyuchenko
Roman Pavlyuchenko
la la la la, la la la la
/(come on you Spurs, come on you Spurs)

I've liked some of the more abrupt and leftfield efforts, but this surely has to be the all-time hardest Spurs name to genuinely come up with a genuinely clever song from?

I'm trying to think of one to Land of Hope and Glory, just because his full name scans the first line perfectly. Chances of me producing anything witty with that are thin on the ground, though.

Anyone remember the Dutch duo; Too Unlimited (Untalented) and their No1 hit "No Limits"?

No No, No-No, No No,
No No, No-No, No No,
There's no rhymes with Pav-Le-Chen-ko

And many goals scores Paavlychenko
he is now a yid and so am I
So let's all praise the Pav

Woodman as in lumberjack? Then we have our song!

'He's our lumberjack and he's OK
He drinks all night* and he scores all day.'

*According to scurrilous Sun gossip

Hetzer, I'm sorry.

We had a player like that, except he got kidnapped a week or so ago.

Worst negotiators ever. They kidnapped him, then we demanded the ransom.
I'm hoping they'll get my missus next (wokka, wokka, wokka). *cough*

I've tried working 'Woodman' into a song. No dice.
It was about lumberjacks and trees for goalposts.
I managed three verses and it just got a touch morbid.

Have you got any songs we can sing for Pavlyuchenko, or any links to songs you sang for him at Spartak?

Also, out of interest, apart from Pavlyuchenko, is there a player who you would take back from our Tottenham team, to join Spartak?

(apologies I know - off-topic - just a quick one - unlikely to get answer).

Poor chap. Must've loved the guy to register and mope where he saw his name in a thread title.

Usually we go with something like "Pavlyuchenko, Pavlyuchenko, ole ole ole", got no real songs for him :( Just.. our tradition, i guess (bad one :<) You can browse some songs here - http://fanat1k.ru/download.php?list.12 but i doubt what this will help..
From your squad.. We'd like to take Luka Modrić (yep, i know he just joined) 'cause.. you know, we love croatians after Euro :)
(We want your stadium, also, lol. 'Cause we don't have one :D)

Again - sorry for offtopic and poor (lol) engrish :)

Aand on topic - woodman is like.. "man made of wood", joking way to describe his often poor performances, really not his individual fault, it's more whole team and coaches lack of.. well.. will and skill. Whole team of woodmans :) Roman fought for Spartak with all hes got and we all really love him. Too bad it's grim times for team and hes never won championship. I hope in England he will rectify this error =)

Guus Hiddink called him "Sleeping giant", maybe you can take it, something like this -
Go on, Sleeping giant,
Go on, Pavlyuchenko
The Spurs will wake you
On the White Hart Lane

Bump. ^^^

Please can anyone barely interested examine the above post from Hetzer, and all that precipitated it.

the 'woodman' thing is slightly worrying.

Hetzer... this 'woodman' thing worries me. You miss him, he's a great player, right? 'Often poor performances' makes me slightly concerned.

Also, just wondering, I checked out the link you gave, and most of the terrace songs were authored by 'Wizard'.

Probably not Roy Wood?

Hetzer, you're always welcome as an honorary Spurs fan should you so wish.

I posted that in the Arshavin thread a few weeks ago. (Well, the Arshavin version, obviously) It is therefore reserved for him.
