prob get the busys kicking my door in later now......

What is the response though? I think at 100,000 they only have to CONSIDER debating it in parliament. I base this on a news report that I was only half listening to.......... o_O

On that BBC programme refereed to above the European Commission is looking into a number of clubs who it is alleged have received undue help from national or local government.

It was mentioned that if they receive a complaint from a club affected they would be duty bound to investigate

At the very least this petition will keep the story out there.

I've just do it...Now over 10k... This the same reason real Madrid and I believe Barcelona are being investigated... Getting new stadium funded by public money... Always thought the whole Olympic Stadium bidding was always flawed as the Porn misses is linked to the parliament... No money changed hands...

Do these things even work at all? I mean one can buy 10 000 signatures off the internet easily enough, probably even 100 000 if you put a small amount of moolah behind it. So basically if i can leverage my social media network to good effect and pay a few $ here and there i can get a debate in Parliament, then?

Seems off.

Even if it gets over a million signatures Boris will make sure nothing is done about it. He has to have his legacy in place before Rio starts.

It really does need an enquiry, but let's not forget that 2 million people marched against the Iraq war and that achieved nothing!

Not sure if I want to waste public money on an enquiry when it seems we can't actually prevent the move going ahead or the way it's being funded with so few sigs on board.

I wouldn't sign it before learning of any taxpayer contributions to our own development project either... an embarrassing backlash about Haringey Council's financial input before we've even begun would be hard to take.

We lost out and I think we have to man up and take it on the chin, it's only the Hammers after all... it'll be empty come their first end of season there....

I'm pretty sure Haringay council have not contributed £200m plus towards our new stadium!

What West Ham have done is a joke for the integrity of the league - not just spurs fans. All the clubs that were competing with them suddenly see them get an artificial boost as they were lucky enough to be close to the Olympic stadium.
