Aguero(the current top scorer) and Fabregras (assists leader) missing out. Would've had them over Costa and Countinho.

What is this Cahill lovefest? I don't rate him that much. Very surprised the players didn't go for Fonte. Clyne is another one unlucky to miss out.

Pritchard and Alli were also selected in their divisions.

Cahill is a strange selective. It looked like Maureen lost confidence in him earlier I the season. Surely there are better center backs in the league this season.

Cazorla should have been in the team ahead of coutinho, but a Liverpool player needs to be in there somewhere I guess...

Have to agree with Hazard winning PotY. Guy has just improved with every season since he's arrived, and has become incredibly good. He is the definitive modern attacking midfielder IMO.

Congrats though to Harry winning the Young PotY and being nominated for the senior PotY. Massive accomplishment considering he wasn't even a starter until the leaves were all gone this season.

Fabregas, Silva, Sigurdsson, Cazorla, Chadli, Eriksen, Downing, Tadic and Bolasie have all had better seasons than Coutinho. I'd put Henderson in ahead of Coutinho if a Liverpool player absolutely HAS to be in the team (which it seems there does.)

How has Cahill got in? What the fuck, he was really poor for about two months, after he got Kaned at WHL. That is proof that people will just vote for players who are in the team that will win the League. Fonte should of been in.

I would of gone for:

De Gea

Clyne
Terry
Fonte
Bertrand

Matic
Fabregas
Sigurdsson

Sanchez
Kane
Hazard

Normally the team of the season is spot on but this year's is pretty shocking. Cahill has been poor - Chelsea fans will tell you that. Fonte should be ahead of him.

And Coutinho? Sterling, Cazorla, Fabregas, Silva, Henderson, Chadli, Downing, Sigurdsson and Eriksen have all been better and got better stats. Mad. When I saw that stat thing about Coutinho (4 goals and 4 assists), I was surprised because the media hype makes you think he must have gotten a least double that amount - and even that wouldn't beat many players in the same position.

Ivanovic and Costa are debatable but I think that's opinion. Costa or Aguero, Ivanovic or Clyne? It's too close to say for certain, I can understand views either way. I understand the inclusion of Matic but I think there's been so many good attacking midfielders who have made great contributions I think we can leave out the defensive midfielder. The team of the season isn't meant to be a balanced team, just the best players roughly in each position. Most teams play 4-5-1 so there's an abundance of midfielders to choose from and you can't say Matic has had a better season than Fabregas, Cazorla, Silva or Eriksen. He's been good but not stand out like the others.

Here's my team for what it's worth:

De Gea

Ivanovic Terry Fonte Bertrand

Sanchez Fabregas Cazorla* Hazard

Kane Aguero
*I think Cazorla or Silva is the toughest choice. Cazorla just edges it for me because of all the Arsenal players, he's the one that scares me the most - more so than Sanchez. He just has this ability to open you up from nothing (I'm sure some people will read this and think: so can Silva!). But I could easily understand Silva being picked ahead of him.
