I’m not sold on this - primarily because this feels like it would be competition for Kulu rather than Richarlison, and I really like Kulu. Has a footballing intelligence that adds a lot. It’s taking a little time to adapt to Ange, but I think he’ll come good.
His reading of Udogie’s play for the second goal showed him thinking a second ahead of anyone else on the pitch.
Other than Maddison I can’t think of another player on our team who I’d trust to pick out a player in the box and play it into their path.
Think an out and out CF is much more important.

Sooner keep Sanchez at this point. Dier and Tanganga do not fit the system

If there are no takers for Dier, what else can we do. 1 good game of Sanchez isnt going to undo his 4+ years of averageness.

As long as we will replace Sanchez with a better CB this window, am all up for it.

does he threaten in behind off the ball or does he like to come to towards the ball in possession?
He’s incredibly versatile, natural on both the left and right. He’s fast so can certainly threaten in behind. He certainly loves the ball at his feet tho. Naturally he plays right but has started this season playing left. He’s one of the best young 1v1 dribblers I’ve seen. He’s Young obviously and by no means the finished article, he does need finessing in his final ball, im not trying to suggest he’s some perfect 21 year old but in terms of potential he has a lot imo. Most importantly I think he is a perfect fit for the system.

It’s a bit old but here is a solid article if you want to read up on him. It will give you a basic outline..just use a paywall bypass

Really? Apart from Man City I don’t think that group is significantly worse than any of the other ‘top 6’
Yes really, it’s severely lacking star quality. Liverpools attacking options are miles better, so are Arsenal’s, those two aren’t even close. It only starts to become a debate when you get to the likes of Newcastle, Villa and Brighton and I’d still take the likes of Diaby and Watkins over our options in their positions in a heartbeat. Brighton have Mitoma, Enciso and Ferguson who I’d take over ours in their positions too. Newcastle have a lot of functional players but they have a lot of pace out wide with Almiron and Gordon and it’s effective for them, Isak is awesome though and Wilson scores goals. We’re living in hope that Son and Deki can recapture form but there are zero signs of it, the rest aren’t anywhere near the players the top 6 have at their disposal

People’s collective amnesia of how bad Sanchez has been or what happens with him is something I’ll never understand.

Maybe Williams doesn’t want to come anywhere near us?

Or maybe Levy doesn’t want to pay the release clause . Or maybe Levy likes Johnson more because we can get a deal including deadwood.
I think the main reason is he’s home grown. We need to balance the squad in that regard, currently it’s all over the place.

So people can bellyache about Williams, or Levy or whatever they want to pin on this to have a moan, but at the end of the day we still need to bring in some home grown players.

Not against him as a signing, although I have a feeling he’s not leaving for whatever reason. I feel like he likes to come towards the ball much more than making runs in behind to threaten a defensive line. I think he likes to feel the ball and have a lot of touches, nothing wrong with that but I’m not sure that’s what we’re missing or wanting

We look like we want to entice teams onto us in defensive and midfield areas, disrupt the shape, then play forwards very quickly into space. I don’t think we’re a team who wants to keep on recycling possession in and around the final third. I reckon a wide forward who plays on the shoulder is probably more what we’re looking for than someone who’d rather dribble it into the final third

You nailed it
Oh dear, Daniel adding to his real life Panini striker collection again is he.. and potentially another Djed Spence situation.

If Ange doesn’t want him whatsoever, that’s a huge concern. If he does then great, but I’d be telling the club I STILL want a striker and centre back as well as Johnson.

That's not what he said, we don't know if Ange wants him but we know he wants a right sided attacker. The important thing is that we need to move out a few before buying and a deal like this may kill two birds with one stone.

But I’m not aware of any links whatsoever between Williams and the Premier League, let alone us. It’s a little disingenuous to suggest that we should be buying a player that we apparently have no interest in.
Sure, neither you nor I know all the targets we like but why can’t I want another player who plays in the same position that is purchasable? How is that being disingenuous? The article suggest Johnson is one of three possible targets we like. Williams might not be one of the other 2 but he also might. We also had previous ITK about 3 possible WF targets and no 2 on the list we didn’t want to pay the release clause. There aren’t many possible targets that would match that remit so guessing Nico is one of them isn’t completely far fetched.

However, If I should only consider targets we have been linked to than In that case I would greatly prefer we sign Chiesa then Johnson as far as wide players go. I’d even feel Fati would be an interesting option over 50 mil Johnson. And if we are viewing him as a CF then I’d greatly prefer we get Lautaro, David or even Orban.
