He hasn't been great, but I remember Son was very poor in his first season and he was a year older.

Fingers crossed it clicks for him soon.

He’s like six or seven months older than Troy Parrott. Is he ready to be the difference maker in a team with no playmaker missing half its attack? No. Does he have useful things to offer? Yes. Can he grow into a monstrous player with good coaching over the next couple of years? I think it’s possible.

Interesting, isn't it, that Johnson's such a bust, yet the opposition manager moves his best 1v1 defender from right-back to left-back (where he's hardly played before, if ever) to deal with him. Now that just may indicate that Ten Hag thinks Dalot is shite, or that Ten Hag makes poor tactical decisions, but it's indicative that some in football see something to be feared in Johnson, even though we're not quite seeing it yet ourselves.

What concerns me the most is the look in his eyes. Just like Sess, he looks scared, with no fire in his belly.

Hopefully Ange’s man management skills will iron this out over time.

Also think he will benefit from the return of Maddison, who lifts the whole team to another level.

A timid performance today. Hopefully, he keeps improving as he has all the attributes to succeed.

If we have no injuries on our side, he is on the bench. Unfortunately, he has been thrust forward at a time when he might not be 100% ready.

He was up against one the best 1v1 defenders in the league today tasked with keeping him out of the game, maybe he could have tried harder but wan biss is a beast when man marking, happens to the best players.

Need more from him, everything he does seems so lightweight and soft. Not writing him off yet though.

I think everything has been said about Johnson right now but we also know when we have Deki and Maddison back that he will assume a position of being utilised off the bench when the game is likely more stretched.

Disappointing returns from him currently and certainly not the creative outlet we require wide right but far too early to write him off completely so I will temper these feelings somewhat.

Must do better but has the reprieve of time on his side.

He was on a yellow card early in the game and Johnson didn't even attempt to dribble past him so many times.

He got into some good positions, but his delivery was very disappointing, either over hit (by miles) or dinked into the keepers arms each time seemingly without looking to try to pick someone out. He needs to improve that with time hopefully. He also doesn’t seem like a clean ball striker. Most of the shots he takes lack power (like Lennon) or are scuffed.

He just needs to be more direct, attack his man and work on his delivery, keep it simple. We have better technicians for the fancy stuff.

Underwhelming today. Would just like him to knock it into space and trust his pace. Just hope he starts to show a bit of faith because right now he's not doing anywhere near enough.

Not his best game today and poor at times, but he's got plenty of time to come good (I mean in real life not on SC :D). He needs to work on his delivery (obviously) but I thought he linked up well at times, took up some good positions and showed well for the ball.

It's not all bad with him, he's a young player and i'm sure the club will give him the time to grow and develop his game.
Absolutely, he's far from the final product.

We've seen a cpl of decent assists to Richy but a lot of first man hit or over hit crosses too.

I'm not sure he was bought in to be the saviour now. He will grow, he has qualities and we bought him for that.

Unfortunately today wasn't his best performance.
