Disagree on this, Liverpool were screaming out for a player like Eriksen to open games up for them with a pass in the games they drew and City have David Silva retiring, Eriksen would be the perfect replacement.
City have Bernardo to replace David.
Pool were successful last season because they had such a solid midfield 3 in front of back 4, an eriksen type player who disrupt that.

Bernardo isn't Silva replacement, firstly they play within the same 11 together regularly, secondly they've gone two seasons with them in the same squad together so I don't see how you can say that when clearly they always have an abundance of depth.

I'd imagine bernando is seen as the david successor. that they're playing at the same time is irrelevant. unlike with spurs, some clubs seem to plan ahead.

Eriksen to utd would be a sickener.

How others say different is beyond me.

This isn't 1995.

aside from financial reward, I see no reason for him to go there. we are a better team than them, with a better manager, and I'd envisage this will be the case for some time (no rose tinted specs).

I don't think any of you have watched City play if you think Bernardo Silva is his replacement, they play Fernandinho Holding with KDB and Silva infront followed by Bernardo Silva and Sterling either side of a striker. Silva was keeping Mahrez and Sane out the team not David Silva.

Well that financial reason is pretty huge. They'll pay him wages we arent willing to give a player, and if/when we do, it'll be to Harry Kane.

Surely Foden is being groomed to be David Silva's replacement?

We'll get nothing for him next season. If Eriksen refuses to sign a new contract, Levy will likely accept the first bid over £40m this summer.

he doesn't have to go? could get higher wages/significant signing on fee/elite team next season.

do you not realise that just because he's playing in a different position currently, he could replace in due course?

But what you're suggesting is that once Silva retires then they won't bother adding a player, it's Man City, that is absolutely foolish to think they won't spend 50-60 mill on a replacement down the line.
