He's totally on par with every season he's been with us. People just keep moaning because we're loosing him. The match thread is really getting embarrassing, by how much hate he's getting from our supporters. What did Kane exactly do in the Liverpool game? Fuck all. Getting bullied by Matip & VVD. Meanwhile he doesn't get a single comment in the Match thread, how funny. And he earns what, 3 x times the money Eriksen does?

What I see in the current games for us he's trying to play the killer-ball all the time, which makes him "loose" the ball and people start moaning. Do you think maybe he's
directed by Poch to try and play that killer-ball, because he's the only one in our team who can play that ball? Mayb he shouldn't try and play that ball, but who else in our team is creating anything? No one, good then. Let's play more AVB football then.

Or let's just try an sign some CM's who can acutally play a ball forwards so Eriksen can get some help, not like Winks, Sissoko or Dembele.

I see no one else mugging him like our own fans. Disgusting.

That's 46 goals, and 62 assist in 199 Premier League games by the way.

Have a word with yourself.

You mean apart from the raking pass out to Trippier to set up our goal?

It's lose.

Not "loose".

The two words mean entirely different things.

Other than that really fucking annoying spelling I agree with your post.

Well, you know there was a time this season where we were the 3rd best team in England & not far off the top. Do you think we have been lately? Do you think Eriksen had more productivity in the earlier games?
Any coincidence there?
Since the Leicester game, we have been using 3 at the back. Eriksen has been substantially deeper, and Kane has been the playmaker. When we have changed it back to 4 at the back, like on Sunday, or the second half against Dortmund at Wembley, look what happens.

Its not about the individual minutiae is it, it's about the overall appreciation of the game. That's why castigating individual players is so harsh. It's a collective thing, and if you want to be frustrated with anyone it should be Pochettino for stubbornly sticking to this, and that we didn't bolster a squad when we had the chance, so that when we reach the final 10 games our squad isn't blowing out of its arse.

5 key passes (including 1 assist) on Sunday, which was the highest from any player on the pitch.

Is this the new scapegoat because we've heard he's got itchy feet? I've criticised him before, but honestly, the level of criticism aimed at the squad and certain individuals especially is sad to see at such a great time for the club...narrowly and quite unluckily lose 2-1 at Anfield (where Liverpool are now 37 games unbeaten) and start fucking blaming again.

Carry on, glad we have all your positivity on board for the crucial end of the season.

So against the best defence in the league, playing uptop on his own he:

Managed to create space and get a shot across goal meaning Allison had to parry it out across his goal.
Held the ball up and played a sublime pass to Rose to whip it in
Won the freekick (one of many) then played a ridiculous ball to Trippier to score our goal.
He played another great pass that got Sissoko and Son in a 2v1 which we should have scored.

But apart from that yeah did nothing. Maybe if he could force his team to create one chance similar the chances he creates for them then maybe he'd get more opportunity to score.

I agree, he is not peaking form-wise atm, but same goes for the team in general and many of the other important players around him. He needs his teammates to perform, just as they need him to perform. It's been a long season, limited squad and who knows what stuff they deal with off the pitch. They are human beings, not machines. Let's keep our fingers crossed for a change in form for the team, when they start up on new white hart lane. I think they looked good against Liverpool, despite the unfortunate defeat. All it takes is a good match or two to get going again.

You and me both know since he came back from injury he's not been Kane-standard and the team hasn't performed well. And your post is not my point either. Kane was just an example to the Eriksen-situation.

WALOB. Kane had a far better game than Eriksen . He’s in terrible form and has been for a while, suck it up mate. Just because you have the blinkers on doesn’t mean we all do.

The Eriksen situation sums the club up.

At his best is he a top player? YES

How long is it since he put a run of games together? HE'S BEEN POOR ALL SEASON.

We, that is the board, the coaching staff, the players and the fans have to decide what we are. Other clubs laugh at our soft underbelly and lack of bottle in big games. We persist with Eriksen and Lloris when they don't warrant a place in the side, the definition of madness is repeating the same thing and hoping for a different outcome yet still I see people trying to justify Eriksen's poor form.

Poch has to be bold.

Eriksen is still creative enough and plays decent enough to make all talk of benching him seem pretty far fetched. Eriksen at near his best is about a lot more than just assists, goals and killer balls. It's about controlling the tempo and keeping our passing game ticking. Making sure that the game isn't frantic when we need it not to be.

And that's where I feel that he's not been his usual self this season. He hasn't been able to dictate as many games as we've been used to.

Poor all season is 12 assists in all competitions (2nd in the Premier League after Hazard) and 7 goals?

Drop him for who exactly? Lamela, who's horrendous?

I would agree that Eriksen has been subpar since Xmas at least. However I wouldn't drop him, because there's no better option. That's what happens when you don't invest in a squad. You end up being at the mercy of player form.

If we had technical players on his level we'd be a lot better. He worked well with Dembele who had a great first touch. We lack an awful lot of creativity, flair and technique for a spurs side.

Mate, he's capable of more & can play MUCH better than he has this season.

That's all (most) people are getting at.

I don't think people would disagree with that statement, it's the those who are over-reacting and talking nonsense that others are taking umbrage with.

Yep, couldn't agree more & that's why I put the (most) in there.

Some comments have been downright bloody stupid.
