If we hadn't made the amazing signings we had already, we would be way more excited about this signing IMO. I'm still thinking it will be a successful loan, and that fee will be a serious bargain.

With him hopefully coming in for day one of preseason I have very high hopes for this one. He looks elite on the ball and I have a lot of faith in the Conte system/coaching taking his defending up a few notches, it certainly did for Davies and Dier.

If we are paying 85% of Lenglet’s reported 70K PW wage and a possible purchase option at around 10m, this has the opportunity to be an absolute steal of a signing (if his performances match his ability). Fair play.
Mate his wages are over 200k per week I believe

That doesn’t seem to be the case. All records point towards 70K PW.
It does appear that he earns approx £5mil/€6mil per year, so looks around 90-100k per week. Some sources below quote these figures. Not sure where the 200k figure came out of.

Source quotes €6 mil per annum

Some knob on Twitter quoted the figure, either copying someone else or picking a round figure that would grab attention.

Their wage bill was capped at £97.94 million in September 2021. If Lenglet was in fact on on 200k per week (10.4million annually), he'd be earning 1/10th of their whole wage bill :ROFLMAO:

Like you say, it's likely made up for some clicks and attention.

This is why they‘re forcing Pique, Umtiti and Depay out. Those x3 are currently costing £31m a year (so nearly a third of that capped wage bill). Crazy.

Madness really. Umtiti would be mental to leave if he's making that sort of money. I can see Depay leaving though Barcelona would need to offset a % the wages.
