No idea how many times I have said it now but some of you really need to stop panicking, Paratici has it all in hand.

I know people are scarred from years of Levy negotiating our transfers but it really IS going to be different this summer with FP.

So you are saying there is a chance it will fall through. And this place will go into
Meltdown? Phew.

I know that as Spurs fans we are all at least a bit masochistic, but what I'm seeing here is exactly what we saw with the Kane story last week. People are allowing their biases from past events to influence the way they interpret things now. With the Kane story, examining it at face value, it was very clear all along that there was nothing new in it, but people chose to believe it; not because of the content of the story itself, but because to spare being shown up again, they are being automatically pessimistic. It's important not to let the past cloud one's ability to assess information as it comes in. Now, again, as di Marzio writes (with a positive tone) that the gap between Tottenham and Atalanta is narrowing (which is the new information), people instead choose to focus on the fact there is a gap at all, like that isn't a normal part of a negotiation, and like the latest incremental information isn't moving in the right direction (which it clearly is).

This may yet fall through. But when the information coming in is incrementally positive, why not wait until it takes a turn before assuming this deal won't happen?

TL;DR relax people!

I can totally relate to where our supporters are coming from in their wariness regarding transfers but as someone who has been lucky enough to watch Fabio operate over here in Italy with Juve I also share your confidence in his abilities to close the deals. Perhaps after this transfer window fans will start to understand how he refuses to allow potential targets and their agents to hold any sort of controlling power over him or his club when negotiating. He's a class act so for now just watch him go to work and enjoy the ride (y)

As much as I get the "we've been here before" statements, we've already heard that we're haggling over the payment structure of the deal. I'm sure it's going to take a decent amount of time to agree on that.

Seeing that it's only Tuesday for the news cycle my guess is that we tomorrow the deal will of being off, Thursday will be a breakthrough and Friday the signing will be imminent ?

Can’t help but feel a bit on edge about this after Skriniar last summer. It’s such a key position we need to sort out and Romero is one of very few elite options that are attainable for us. Can’t afford to fumble this one or get cold feet. A top centre-half is absolutely non-negotiable if we want to get back to being competitive.

We really need a CB before the season starts or we’re liable to shockers, time is ticking & we have to factor in isolation for any players that do fly over …
