It’s no easy thing keeping Saint Maxine quiet all game, but Romero, Emerson, and our midfield took him out of the game. It’s was actually quite alarming to see just how dependent Newcastle are on him. Clearly Conte had that figured out quickly. Cancel out Maxine, and Newcastle are toothless.

Few defenders in this country can manage to create a highlight reel. You love to see such an active and decisive player in any area of the pitch, but as a centre back it gives you a special kind of tingle. Could be a legendary signing for us if we keep him and can do a thing with him in the side.

Mad that Paratici allowed him to leave Juve to go to Atalanta in the first place.

I guess they had put all their chips in on De Ligt and still had their old legendary CBs knocking about so he would've struggled to get gametime, but God I bet Juve would do anything to have him now.

We've effectively signed 3 Juve rejects and massively improved our first 11. Not the most imaginative signings perhaps, but Paratici has played a blinder by bringing in these 3 guys.

What a player. Absoloutely incredible, with his age he will only get better as well. I think centre backs overall level have gone up in recent years. Due to more expectations being placed in combined defensive and footballing ability.

VVD and Dias are both great examples of this and guess what? We have the next one to join that list in Romero. He is a fantastic defender who still has small areas to improve with age and experience. He also has the ability of a midfielder with the ball. So composed and assured. What a signing.

We did well v Toon tho, so let's see how it goes.
So three of FPs signings are a success. Maybe there is hope for Gil and Emerson too, we need a new keeper though
