Yes, he had a bad game today but that's not a reason to abuse the lad.
That Spurs Official have come out in defence of him due to racist abuse he's received on social media is fucking terrible.
These "fans" need to be identified, banned and fucking prosecuted. Disgusting ****s, the lot of them.

Amen to that. Find them, ban them, nick them.

Regards Doherty he was stellar in the Wolves wing back position . For me he was good player that looked a good buy .
Our club at the moment do not play with wing backs and he seems like a fish out of water .
Myself for one would not be surprised to see him thrive at the right club playing the system that suits his playing style .
Shame for him shame for us .

Has he played 3 games on the spin for us yet?

He seems like a nice bloke who has got a good attitude but he has really regressed and I don't think he is going to get a lot better than he currently is at the moment.

Think we need a real shouty bastard back there like Ramos! he'd do wonders for our current crop.

It was another one of those moments were Sanchez was actually trying to correct after a mistake from a team mate and got it horribly wrong himself with a poor clearance, is how Newcastle scored...I can see and understand why people ain't willing to give him anymore chances.

I'm all for improvement across the board we're in the mix somehow but I'm not at all convinced we have the quality to qualify for CL.

Just saw Big Dav’s story. Abhorrent. Maddening. Sad. I fucking hate people. Nobody should ever be abused like that. Social media is abysmal. Pre-teens(and you know that “fan” is one) with their fan burner accounts are the worst.

Who are these fucking ****s who think it's fun to be ****s under the guise of anonymity?

Whenever I look at these accounts I swear most of them are bots, it just so fucking weird. Who the hell makes a burner account just to racially abuse someone? The social media companies simply refuse to do anything substantial, resulting in heavy handed responses from government, almost like this is what the bots (Russians/Chinese) wanted. More civil unrest...and that is enough tinfoil for me :ROFLMAO:

He needs to play in a settled defence. We have not had that. It changes every week. Him and Toby is my preferred
It changes every week because they are always fucking injured and the ones that aren't are crap.

Aurier struggled this season for fitness, Doherty is worse defender we have had in 15 years, Gilberto seems better to me at the moment, Regullion struggled with injury all year and Toby is like captain America at end of Endgame

Nah, a player plays bad, we have a pop, fair do’s. We’re all disappointed. But this racial abuse?? Family threats etc? In today’s society? It’s beyond anything resembling humanity. Day by day, I find myself falling deeper in to a hole of privacy and protection for me and my family. If the world is really this shit, I don’t want to be part of it. The lack of any respect for any other person just blows my mind.

I've followed this rabbit hole several times now and the reality is that the overwhelmingly majority of the race-based posting that I've looked at comes from fans in various parts of Asia (and sometimes South America). The media is uninterested in qualifying their stories with those details so domestic supporters end up bearing the brunt of it, regardless of their actual proximity. And then supporters on forums like this moralise about it to a bunch of other supporters who aren't actually involved. It's a totally nonconstructive cycle that achieves little and ignores - willfully, in some ways - reality.

For some reason there are some players that fans cling to despite their actual performance.

Start of the season he was poor and then rightly dropped. Then he plays again as a desperate and under pressure Jose realised that he's one of only a few CBs who can play a higher line.

Now his performances had gone from poor to ok but to some that slight improvement meant he was playing well despite actually being directly accountable for goals conceded and some luckily ruled out via VAR. Then we have a performance like today which showed everyone all his weaknesses that haven't improved and are unlikely to. You have to be switched on at CB and be able to read the game which he can't, and actually his one asset (pace) is probably responsible for that. I'm not sure that can be taught or coached. I know some like to say he's young but he's actually one of our more experienced players right now so I can't see that argument.

I call this Dele syndrome. I don't know of a cure.

Are they fans? As if you were a fan of this club specifically and actually understood the history of the club and the area it resides in, your not a fan spouting this shit.

I would put money on this racist arsehole has never been to a Spurs match in his life.
I don’t know mate, I’ve heard shit in the stadium, comments from fans about how many ‘insert derogatory term for oriental folks’ coming into the ground etc

almost had a stand up punch up with one fan spouting off a fair bit of racial abuse to players on the pitch in front of my lad too.

but, as someone else pointed out, could be anyone, someone who lost a bet, someone who is just vile and does this shit for attention.

this is why social media should only be allowed if you verify your own name/address etc

Its horrible that some idiot throws racial abuse at Sanchez...or anyone else for that matter.
But in these times, with social media being a global phenomenon, its so difficult to determine if this was some wanker that is actually a spurs fan, or if its an anonymous gambler from Indonesia or Slovakia, who is pissed that spurs didnt win...and sanchez gets the blame.
Youve got a good point. And another thing, social media is a global phenomonen. That means its not given that the racist is an idiot bloke from London. It may not even be an idiot following spurs. Ive read about similar storys of racial abuse of athletes in other countries and the people behind it was big time gamblers from far away countries.
None the less, its sad that some people turn as low as this.

Really hope we move him on this summer. He’s been poor for too long. Hasn’t developed at all.

The racial abuse is not on, but I'm not going to let that stop me criticising his performance yesterday.

The guy is crap. He made unforced error after unforced error, gave the ball away with crap clearances or aimless punts down the line. He was a joy to play against and Jose's targeting of him all those years ago seems to still be a valid tactic.

As mentioned in the match day thread, the problem with Sanchez is he is either a 9/10 or a 4/10.

I don’t think i have ever seen a CB who is so good at being inconsistent. It was only 2 weeks ago he was being praised for his performances and then he stunk the place out yesterday. He cannot be relied on, and so must be sold.

PS - anyone going on social media to abuse our players directly, particularly racist abuse is human excrement.
