He will always be under the radar and never be deemed a very good player by many because he's just so damn predictable and easy to defend. Just block his left side and force him to his right.
Problem with wanting him to cross the ball is, who is he crossing the ball to. Son is not that good in the air, West Ham have some monsters at the back.
Richarlison is the only one we’ve got who is good in the air .
1 pt from 5 games and we are still 5th.
All I'm asking of him is to vary his playing style, instead of always check back to his left and fake and move to his left further then pass the ball away..
He needs to develop at least something on his right foot or simply play centrally because I don't see how he can be the outlet for the right side being so 1 dimensional.
Against teams defending very deep and compact I'd rather see him in the middle and have someone who has a bit of pace out on the right. Porro can't get go on the overlap as much as he should when Kulu keeps slowing the play down to get on his left foot.
Wasn't his best game today. But I still back him fully. I genuinely think he's perfect in that 10 position, but out wide he just can't do it. He's playing on the right purely because we don't have many decent options currently. I see him being shifted to the 10 position to rotate with maddison.
However what tonight showed is he isn't the long term option for the right side, he can at best be cover on that side and cover for maddison. He isn't one to sell off, definitely one to keep around.
When he had that purple patch, his crosses into the box (albeit for Kane) were excellent; flat and powerful. Recently, he keeps overhitting these horrible floaty crosses out of play.
I do see him in midfield long term. But to be fair to Deki, he used to assist Kane plenty. There's no one to hit in the middle. He can't just whip a cross in unless we're in behind and he can play it along the floor.
