Our build up play actually looked good today, despite the loss parts of our general play was the best I've seen for months. And I feel like Deki really contributed to that. There's a stark difference with him on the pitch because he can actually receive the ball under pressure with 1-2 man in his back and make it out alive. Thus we can beat the press and start moving the whole team up the pitch.

Yes, he has other limitations (..pace etc), but we've really missed this version of Deki. I'd like to see Brennan - Richy - Deki start up front against Chelsea on thursday.

I do wonder if we could go to a midfield 3 and play him more to the right side of that 3
He did well today, looked so strong on the ball but when he comes inside we lose that width
I thought the little spell with him picking up pockets inside and Johnson outside looked promising

He is ahead of Maddison for me at the minute. Against Chelsea I’d like to see Biss, Sarr and Kulu in midfield with Son, Richy and Johnson up top.

One of the (many) things that confused me today. He was running rings around Tomiasu early on in the game and was drawing fouls. We then stopped giving him the ball - surely we try and get their FB on a yellow and then exploit it?

Either way, decent performance from him today, used his strength well and battled.

I think Ange may also be at the stage where he's just rotating the midfield and front three because they're all a bit bang average at the moment. None of them are in form.

Proud of how he responded to being second-choice for a bit and in such a big match. Says a lot about his professionalism and general character.

Done well today, I'd probably still start Brennan over him on the right but I'd play kulu in place of Madison as he's offering very very little atm

Should have started with kulu central, Werner left and Johnson right.
He was much more involved than madders during his spell as a 10

Best thing you can say about Kulu is that he never goes missing.

Everything might not come off for him all the time, but you always know he's playing.

Oliver was never booking one of theirs first. The countless fouls Tomiyasu got away with, I counted 4 in the first half alone that could have been yellows. Piss weak referee.

Kulu was excellent today, getting back to some of his earlier form.
