Spurs are now rivalling Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid for the transfer of Shakhtar Donetsk full-back Dodo.

This is now looking like as Djed as a Dodo.

He’s supposed to be fantastic.
Tend to disappear around 1662 though; maybe not one for evening kick-offs ;)

Car ITK ?

this is a new one
He want's to be a bit careful as I thought it was no cameras policy once past the security gate, wouldn't want the fella loosing his job/access for a few seconds of internet fame.

Dodo's 5'5". Doesn't Conte prefer them big?

will be great to add him to the squad. Building a team of naturally athletic monsters is no bad thing

If we sign him, I think it's critical we do so before preseason starts. He's very raw still and will need that guidance and direction from Conte before the PL starts.

There's a lot of haggling going on with Spence. Gibson's no pushover and even though he's backed into a corner due to us currently being the only viable option, he will push it as far as he possibly can.

This one I do expect to happen but as of yesterday they wanted a lot in add-ons and we were down negotiating the price accordingly. Will take some movement both in us raising the bid and them lowering demands on the extras.

As I say we are the only viable option currently and I do expect it to get over the line, but its not one I'd put a date on. Could be tomorrow could equally drag on.

Thanks Trix.

Is this a deal that Levy is working on and not FP, due to the relationships Daniel has?

Maybe that explains the delay and price haggling ??

(I am joking everyone, if it wasn't obvious)

I think a lower initial fee with significant add ons actually suits us with some of the rumours about his character etc. Surely the sticking point is Gibson wants to have his cake and eat it.

more likely the sticking point is the amount of initial fee.
Boro need players and are highly unlikely to be in a position to splash out even a couple of mil without funds from Spence, and maybe even Tavernier

The Spence deal could well bring in similar money for Boro as their TV deal, can't really blame them for trying to cash in.

Hopefully a compromise can be found.

You can’t blame them for wanting to maximise how much they get for him, but now the player has made his preferred destination very clear (according to several journos) Boro have to make sure they don’t blow the deal up completely. If their experience of Spence is a boom or bust player with attitude problems, they ought to ensure a sale happens this window otherwise they could end up with a Saido Berahino scenario.
