A lot of reporters will just add an element to the story to make it seem as if they’re not just re hashing someone else’s article. I think this is probably that. We’ve seen from the doc how much José rates Dele and he adds a genuine goal threat from midfield. Can’t see us getting rid even on loan. Especially with where our HG situation is at

Going to share a point I just thought of, I have a feeling Bale may be the back up striker, or if not means we won’t be going for someone like Belotti or Milik, perhaps sorloth or Dost are possible. Would not be mad

Well all this is causing me problems.

Wife: you've been on that spurs forum since 4pm!

Me: but we might be signing Bale and another Madrid player!

7:45pm
Wife
: I've sorted tea and put the kids in the bath.

Me: thanks babe.

Wife: have they fucking signed him yet

Me: No
(Continues to refresh Bale and Reguilon threads like a maniac.)

Wife: walks off muttering expletives to herself

I love SC at times like this!

If you sell Rose, Aurier, and Gazzaniga you’ve opened 175k in wages. Sissoko and Lamela are another combined 160k. Vertonghen’s 100k has already come off.

250k is about £12.5m a season, which I feel confident we could rustle up for as big of a signing as Bale. If you needed to sell to get that money, we could without seriously harming the quality of the team.
That leaves us very short on squad depth.

People can slag off Levy. But you can't doubt the man when it comes to the numbers.

That would be insanely creative and beneficial for all parties imo.
If that is the only way to do it then sure but leaves us with only lo celso who can play n.o10 and then only ndombele who can play as 6/8 creative CM so not ideal for squad balance tbh.

I’m probably Deles biggest blindest defender here but the mere fact that I keep having to defend him has worn on me. Love the kid, but maybe a move to a club like that where he will be super motivated but also can’t hide will be good for him, and if you offer me two years of Bale or five of Dele, I’m taking two of Bale.

I’d rather not sell Dele to buy Bale but fuck it, if we get back a once in generation world class player then it’s worth the sacrifice. Probably also means we’d finally switch to a three man midfield, enter Ndombele.

Let baldy bollocks wrap up the signings and the Levy reacharounfs can begin

Probably would go to 5 at the back with no number 10. Pushing for Reguilon most likely confirms this and could have Hoijbjerg and Lo Celso in CM.

How do Real Madrid benefit from that deal? Dele's not getting anywhere near that team and he's nowhere near technical enough to play in Spain.

Dele leaving allows us to move to a 433 as well, probably our most natural formation for the set of players we have.
