Not buying this 100 percent salary thing no way we would have even went near it with a 600k salary

Maybe Madrid have gone back on that? They could of said they’d pay 50% to get us interested and now want 100%. But who is to say after sleeping on it tonight that their minds might not change again?

Of course this is going to be complex to get everything agreed to everyone's liking.

The broad strokes would of been sorted in the initial discussions, not now after several hours/days of negotiations.

Otherwise this wouldnt of got off the fringing ground.

Remember there's a desire from all parties to get this done so I think we should be confident it will.

No need for unnecessary panic.

Was on a train and some guy pulled his mask down to whisper to another bloke. That bloke looked alarmed and pulled his mask down and whispered to the girl next to him. She went pale her knees started shaking and she turned to the pensioner next to her and whispered something that made the old bloke drain his bladder allover the train floor and over my feet as the old prick turned to me; puylled down his mask and whispered...:

"Levy's moved the goal posts"

So now I've got pee over my feet; I'm shitting bricks about Bale not coming and an entire train has to be tracked and traced for possible Covid.

Cheers @Trix :shifty:

Fabrizio on Instagram said we wont pay more that 50%
So are Madrid playing silly buggers then? We'll pay 50%, they pay the other 50% and then there were reports that Bale will take a pay cut to come back - I'm totally confused now.

I’m sure there was a quote from Bales agent either this morning/ last night (it’s all a big blur) stating that the “most difficult parts of this deal had already been agreed”. You’d imagine that this would include his wages.

Neymar to PSG
Ronaldo to Juve
Pogba to United

All of these deals took days to be fully completed.

We're not signing an 18-year-old from the Championship

I'm sick of all these golf puns!

This deal was always going to be rough, it's not easy to putt a deal like this together. On the hole, I'm sure all parties would like to get it done as soon as possible. We just need to iron out a few details and hopefully Levy can drive the deal forward. The only fairway to assess the deal will be once the details have been announced. Only then will we know if we have been shaft-ed. All parties seem keen to play ball which is positive and things are looking good but we aren't out of the woods yet.

I feel better now ;)

100% wages my arse, if that was their position it wouldn't have got this far, Levy wouldn't have touched it with a barge pole. Plus Madrid know if they introduced it now Levy would walk away, they want him gone so it ain't going to happen.
What might happen is they'll arrange something in the deal so they can pretend they aren't subsidising it.
I know we're all excited but in the final analysis it's the original plan for transfers that are critical, Bale is a bonus, a pretty fantastic bonus mind you.
I'm confident on this now.

I think it’s 100% wages if it’s a loan. This deal sounds like a juggling act to keep all parties happy. I wouldn’t be surprised if a large chunk of Bales wages are paid off (by either side) to give him guaranteed payment in his RM contract AND allow him to stay within our wage structure. The talk of a 7-15m obligation fee kind of adds of that hypothesis. It’s not a straight loan nor is it a straight purchase.

This is sure to be a crazy complex deal. So, I'm not surprised some aspects of it will take a little bit longer. It's not like impulse buying a bag crisps on your way out the shop.

Most important thing to remember is that the player, the selling club and the buying club are aligned on the the broad strokes of the deal. Now is the finer details, and that could mean some inertia before getting the green light to move.

I wasn't expecting any announcement about the deal being completed until early next week.
