But how would Gareth get by on less than 600k/week ?

thats a little unfair. If you had a contract and your employer was happy to give you light duties would you jack it in and go somewhere for a quarter of the wage? I certainly wouldn’t

I dont follow our social media stuff much, but is this out of the ordinary? I.e. do we often share random goals of other ex players? Context is everything!

There’s a real possibility that he’ll be lined up against England in a few months at the World Cup. Of course it’s topical

I don't buy this idea that he'll only be interested until the world cup if Wales qualify. Sure it would be massive for him but Kane has said before how much playing for England means for him. He still gives everything for us. It's not like Bale would lose interest after the World Cup. I do think it would mean a lot to him to win something with Spurs and he would do all he can if he was here. He hasn't had the same connection with fans that he had with Spurs so he would want to do something here. It won't be as special to him as helping lead Wales in the world cup but it would still mean a lot.

Look, I'm not against Bale but there is a reason why his second spell here had him not starting all too often. Both under Mourinho and Mason. Don't get me wrong he is still a game changer but also did leave the squad very imbalanced. Still has talent, but there is sentimentality at play here, as well as reductionist understandings of the game.

In any case I have doubts he would come mostly because he is the antithesis of what a Conte player is. He requires a lot of working around him, like Ronaldo for that matter, rather than being a cog in something greater.

The reality is a 32 year old bale is a player who most top teams wouldn't touch at the moment for a whole host of reasons (wages, inconsistency, injuries, perception that he is difficult to work with, age etc.). While I can see how their might be a place for him as an impact player or against teams where we expect to dominate the ball, ultimately, I'm not overly excited or overly against the idea of having him at this point in time.

If Mason had gone with Bale instead of a totally unfit Kane in the City final last year we might have created a few chances .Not saying we would have won but it was like playing the final with 10 men. Champions League Final again, this time Bale instead of Lucas left out for him. Both times Kane should never have started.

Are we believing this report/source?

I'll never not be on the "bring him back" train. It's all been said before, but what a player to bring off the bench/allow rotation across the front line.

i actually am good with it, if Conte wants him then fine with me, I still think he has lot to contribute.,in and out of the dressing room, he definitely knows how to win,and can fill in for any of the front 3. As Ronaldo proved recently even old world class players can destroy teams.

In fact if he and Christian Eriksen come back they should more or less slot straight back in to the squad. You never know they mifght even get Dele playing again

Bale, Eriksen, Dybala, Johnstone. There are some squad changing free transfers available this summer. Let’s hope this is true!

The thought of Eriksen playing with Bale really excites me... please make it happen

Eriksen can play in the first half and ping forward balls to Kane & Son.

Bale can come on at halftime for CE and Kane can then slot into the Eriksen role, pinging forward balls to Son & Bale.

I really think he could play a false 9 role not too dissimilar to what Kane does. It would allow him to roam a little and get his head up with the ball at his feet. It would also not impact our defending from the inside support forwards. He's also really affective at attacking crosses. If we could get Eriksen too I would sell Moura and loan out Gil again. It gives us a more balanced attack.

Bale would be a super sub. But imagine if, instead of bringing Moura on we were bringing Bale on.
