He’s the definition of not cut out for the prem. Not physical/quick enough and doesn’t see the game fast enough to make up for it.

Following his purple patch, I've rarely been so consistently underwhelmed by a player. Whenever I see his name on the team sheet or that he's coming on the bench I have high hopes and they're never met.

Contrary to popular opinion, I don't think he actually plays badly very often - he's usually fairly neat and tidy, with some decent tackles - but barely once in a Spurs shirt has a grabbed a game by the scruff of the neck and really put his imprint on it (something Eriksen did about 20 times per season).

It's just been a steady trickle of..."is this it?"

If Gio leaves I wonder if that will make Romero think twice about signing on full time in the summer. His Atalanta mate Gollini will be gone too.

I'm all for Conte's approach for dealing with Ndombele, Alli and Locelso and by the looks of things we are actively looking to get rid of them all this week. From a pure numbers stand point we will need min 2 midfielders in to replace them though. I think we play best when playing 352 and we literally have 3 CMs if those three leave. That's some mega business to do in one week considering we also need a RWB and CF.

Maybe we will look to do some 6 month loans and look to do our long term business in the summer.

It's probably quite a sad indication of his time here that I can say I don't think I'll be too upset when he goes. He's never really been in the side long enough for me to form any sort of attachment to him.

He has done pretty much nothing in the few years he has been with us
If we can get 20m or so and he goes then so be it

I really like lo celso but he’s not fit often enough. My problem is I don’t think we’ll upgrade on him for similar money. In really disappointed in everything about today which annoys me as we had great momentum

For us in 2 & a half years he’s had 55 appearances, including substitutions, 1 goal. I don’t think we’ll notice he’s gone. How much did we pay for him in total, including the loan fee?

It just hasn't really worked for Lo Celso here. He reminds me a bit of Lewis Holtby in that when he came in, it really looked like he might have something we were missing, but it just never really happened.

Unlike Ndombele, I don't think we can accuse Gio of a lack of effort so I'll wish him well if and when he does depart. It's a shame most of the Spanish clubs don't have the money they once did as we'll likely take a heavy loss on him.

I do think as fans we'll probably think twice about celebrating links to unknown quantities now. I can specifically remember people being dismissive of Grealish and Bowen when we were linked, but both would have been infinitely better than Ndombele and Lo Celso, with hindsight.

Was very surprised he wasn't involved today. I think for him to go ontop of dele and Ndombele we'd have to do something very big personally.
I can’t see us getting Kessie now who is clearly our first choice so we’re in a bit of a pickle. Wijnaldum on loan would be a priority for me.
Conte taking no prisoners, if the club won’t sell them, he just won’t pick them. Strong management gotta love it
It's exactly what we need. Standards being set and nowhere to hide at board level.

Where did you get 55 from? I was under the impression it was closer to 90, as shocking as that is...

edit: Looks like you're using league games/goals only. Still bonkers.

I wonder what's changed over the past few weeks.

Conte had some positive comments about Lo Celso early on, describing him as an "important player" IIRC. I wonder if he's realised Lo Celso is a player he "cannot trust" as that seems to be an important thing for him?

Bit of a weird one as Lo Celso has always come across as quite professional and there were never any questions around his attitude under previous managers. And, while he's been underwhelming, he is better technically than some of our other options in midfield.

Does Conte not think his heart is in it? Or is he a player with value that he feels we can raise some money with?

Bit of a strange one.

Long term if he doesn't want them then I'm not going to disagree - all three have struggled for one reason or another and at some point we have to accept it might not work out.

However to completely axe all three, when there are no other creative players in the squad, with no replacements yet signed and with matches in multiple competitions on the horizon....I just can't get my head around that. Unless they've all done something so bad that it would undermine Conte's authority for them to keep playing (which I feel is probably the case with Ndombele but no sure about the others) then we should be easing them out slowly until someone is ready to pick up the pieces.
