If he has been scouted and analysed, with the conclusion that he is perfect for Ange's style of football, then it is a no-brainer. The problem was always buying players without a plan and just buying them because they were good deals. I don't give a shit if he cost a penny or 100 million; as long as he fits Ange's vision and that of the Club's long-term strategy of football, then do it.

Actually think this is smart from Spurs for several reasons. Yes Raya was 1st choice, but if Brentford are not selling at the price we think he's worth, we have to move on rather than have a long drawn out transfer window. Never seen or heard of this guy, but I'd never heard of half the players Brighton bring in and would love some signings like that. It might also allow us to spend the money saved from raya on someone like Maddison!
I suppose it will come down to what we're prepared to pay for a HG/Premier League proven prdmium as both seem at a similar level and stage of their careers. With that in mind £25m seems excessive if Brentford insist on £40m

Just told he's Gabbanini's pick and Ange was 100% on the same page. Lots of others with voices at the club had no idea who he was.

It's a bit odd because we were getting closer with Raya to a point it surprises me if we have pulled out.

If the managers happy with it though, then I'm happy, despite knowing next to nothing about him myself.

It does suggest that if we are moving away from Raya we will be looking to bring in HG in other areas.

Our last 4 signings from the Italian league:

Romero - quality
Deki - quality.
Bentancur - quality.
Udogie - potential quality.

We clearly know the market and league very well.

Hmmmmm sorry but I’m super cynical about spurs at moment and just smacks of us going for the cheaper option and that always works out well…

We should be paying the money for a home grown proven league quality goal keeper in Raya.

Using Wyscout and setting some filters for the keeper, such as good passing and being a good shot stopper, this is the list I got.

The scout we took from Watford. He seems to be highly rated and knows his stuff.
Oh... cheers... sounded like someone from Paratici's possè 😊

Vicario means vicar in english... Vicarage Road, Watford... hmmm... I like his scouting :)

Would he be a backup keeper? Is there any possibility Fraze gets moved on?

If Ange is completely on board with this then that's all that matters.

Also very interesting to see it attributed to Gabbanini and wouldn't surprise me if we eventually announce him as our new Technical/Sporting director considering his influence already at the club.
