Hopefully he’s back after the IB.

His injury record is concerning though & we need to find ways to be creative without him

A scan on a foot injury suggests it’s more than just precautionary, I’d be surprised if we see him again before the international break

Oh come on - this doesn't sound good. The chances of it ending as: 'it was only precautionary, and it turned out there was indeed nothing wrong!' ....are bloody slim aren't they?

Would be super annoying given the positive vibes after the last game.

Yep said this after the game no one wears a protective boot to be 'precautionary' you're either in pain or you're not.

He was in a lot of pain when he went down during the game it was right in front of where we were sitting, I thought he'd done his ankle or knee under the weight of the challenge and it looked like he signalled a few times to come off then seemed to change his mind, the adrenaline probably carried him through but I reckon he'll be out for at least a few weeks.

Not ideal at all but if Lo Celso stays then he should slot in nicely for us until Maddison is back.

If its a short term injury, I am happy it occurs now than post close of transfer window.
Hopefully a injury concern now could mean us going out to market for certainty to get another AM or forward.

It could still be nothing. The boot was "precautionary" and if there was swelling they'd have to wait for it go down before a scan but surely if there were any concerns at all (ie putting him in a boot) they'd scan it anyway. Fingers crossed.

He is a much better player than I thought he was. Turns out I'm an idiot.
Me too.
I was all a bit meh about him to be honest but he's pleasantly surprised me in every way.
Not only is he a much better player than I gave him credit for, he's actually a really nice bloke too, clever, funny and driven.

Just goes to show how easy it is to misjudge players that you don't watch that closely.
I'm more than happy to eat humble pie on this one, it's not the first time and I'm sure it won't be the last! 😁

This reminds me of City at home last season, when Loris got injured after seeming ‘fine’, during the post match celebrations.

Damn. I think this shows we need to go for Eze this summer. Move on Gio if so.
There is obviously not a need for Eze and shift Gio, when we have Gio? Worst case Kulusevski can cover the no. 10 role.

There is a need for a striker that we have not replaced and maybe a winger and a defender that fits the system.

If he's out for any period of time then this is what Lo Celso is for. Long-term we need another right-winger more so than anything else and getting at least one in frees up Kulusevski as another option in the Maddison position. We should still be fine without him because our fixtures are fairly favourable and I'm not sure the drop-off in quality between him and Lo Celso at his best is all that much even if they have their differences.

Hopefully it's not serious, but we do have cover in that position. We have 4 games that on paper, I'd consider fairly winnable, that's without Maddison. As longs as he's back for the Arsenal game, I'm not worried.

Maddison more likely to have assists, Lo Celso likely to make the play flow better.
Both top international no. 10s.
