Phew. Hopefully it's not long so.

I'd definitely leave him out of the squad this weekend. GLC is fine to replace him.

Maddison wants to play this weekend but we shall see, we do need to be very cautious. No point risking a lengthy absence for the sake of one game no matter how important he may be to us.
My concern is us resting him this weekend then Southgate running him into the ground during the international break.

He’ll want to nail down a position in the England squad and will want to play in any and all internationals.

Ange this weekend said he was still hoping to throw players in and continue to assess and give them looks to learn more about them and give them a chance to shine. I definitely think Lo Celso deserves that and to protect Maddison.

Thankfully I don't think we'll ever have the problem with Maddison that we had with Kane where he'd literally play at least 150 mins every international break. England have a lot more midfielders than strikers, so with rotation I can imagine Maddison getting a good amount of minutes but not so many that he wouldn't get a break.

To echo what @npearl4spurs said, Ange implied he’ll be making a couple of changes each game in these early stages of the season to find out who can do what. Madders’ injury just presents us with a good opportunity to give Lo Celso a start. Having played well together in pre-season it might help Richarlison a bit as well.
