We've just got some fans who will jump on anyone who dares have an iffy 45 minutes (or less).
If there's one thing about the internet, it's that people use it to over-react about anything and everything.

Is Lucas a world beater? No, not really.
Is he shit? Not at all.
He's a decent little player who, like most, has his strengths and weaknesses.
That doesn't mean that we can call him crap and call for him to be sold!
If some posters had their way, we wouldn't have anything beyond a first 11 because the rest are shit and should be sold. ?
I agree with everything you've written except saying we can't ask for him to be sold.

Football fans have always had in and out lists in their minds. I believe now is the right time to sell Moura should we receive an offer.

To be fair, I don't disagree with selling him at all. In fact, he may well be one of our most saleable assets at the mo.
It's just that some want to sell all our players, at once.
Lucas could be a valuable squad member and we need to get rid of the ones that never play/can't be relied on first.
Lucas is certainly upgradable but can still do a job, it's the likes of Winks, Big Dave etc, that I'm not so sure about.

If Lucas Moura is shit on the basis of yesterday's performance, then so are Kane, Kulusevski and Son.
This is it for me personally having read the post game comments in this thread.

Kulu produced nothing yesterday, lucas in his cameo had a couple of terrible touches but also was actually able to beat cucerella (excuse the spelling cba to look it up) and created our most dangerous moment of the second half flashing the ball across the box that reggie was a little too late to get to. That alone was more than the rest of the team produced prior.

Zero posts in the kulu thread but a handful of posts in here to just raise the point that lucas isnt good enough and has the touch of a rapist feels very disproportionate imo.

(Not that im asking people to jump into the kulu thread and give him some sh1t to balance it out btw!)

Kulusevski has scored and got more assists than Moura this season in under half the games and has only just moved to the coutry.

The match thread is full of posts saying all our attacking players didn't play well yesterday.

But Moura has consistently disappointed this season.

They're really not comparable.

You just admitted in another post that you're more focused in finding out any negative aspects in Lucas game, so it's no surprise why you think he has consistently disappointed this season. You're wrong, though, since there were at least a patch or two this season in which he was one of our most prolific players, and considering that pretty much has defined our whole season (having periods of good and bad football, as well of periods of good and bad results), I don't understand why you have decided Lucas is what needs to be upgraded, since his output may as well be a symptom and not the disease.

LOL, nice try.

I said I am disappointed in Moura's performances this season and when posting I write about his negatives more and don't feel the need to try to balance every single post by also mentioning the positives.

If 2 goals all season makes him "one of our most prolific players" then it is no wonder why upgrading him was of the utmost importance.

Dropping Moura for Kulusevski has been a major factor in our excellent firm this calendar year.

Moura has 9 league goals and 13 assists in the last 2 and 3 quarters of a season. If you don't understand why he needs upgrading, that's your problem.

Am glad its been said as much in the match thread. Love what kulus done so far for what its worth.

Was lucas 25mins yesterday so bad to take to the player thread and call him out on the back of it, having already been said in the match thread like u say? Felt like he had more success than kulu in his 65mins personally so a bit harsh.

Different if he was starting every week but at this point hes thrown in when the starting 11 have run out of ideas, so to dump on him for that is harsh especially when hes faired better in his limited mins, again imo and not expecting the change minds but feel like he warrants a bit of support in his corner.

Based on yesterday's performance I agree with you. I agree with you that Moura shouldn't be getting too much criticism for yesterday.

But most of the posts here are about his consistent lack of output and the time being right to sell him this summer.

I support him, I just don't particularly rate him.

Oh I apologize, I remembered slightly different what you wrote.

If you regard how prolific he was just by how many goals he has scored, no wonder you're disappointed on him. He has been fairly instrumental in a few of our victories this season, but sure, go ahead and call that as being consistently disappointing.

He's good enough to be a squad player for us, and yesterday he did his job since we improved quite a bit when he came on in spite of not getting everything right. However, it's very difficult for most squad players when the team is playing in only a single competition.

When has he been instrumental? He doesn't create much and his goal tally is very poor and has been for several seasons now.

He works hard and presses well but it's just not enough.

Had the first touch of a lamppost when he came on, think he needs to be playing regular, possibly does not suit the Conte system, but was one of our better players earlier on, but now looks miles off the pace when he gets the seldom chances he does get.

Early on Conte's reign, for one.

No one was saying Moura was shit based on one performance though.

Yeah, you all just waited for him to have a not so successful performance to jump in and call him shit. The funny thing is that most of you didn't apply the same treatment to the likes of Kane, Kulusevski and Son, whose performances weren't any better than his with at least twice the game time he had, and who also had way more competitive rythm since they have been playing pretty much every match for the past few months, so any rational person would expect and demand more from them than Lucas.
