We are signing the winger who is not a flop in PL & CL on a free, unlike the winger Chelsea signed for 90m€🤣

Tottenham is a business as much as a football club (if not more over the last 15 years).

A free signing that has the potential to add to the squad or be sold for a profit is an important opportunity for clubs like Spurs who do not have vast owner backing.

Most academies operate this way also; training up players with potential to add to the first XI or be sold to lower league clubs.

Signings like this add to our transfer budget in years to come assuming the player does not have the intended impact. Smart move IMO.

I'm happy if Ange is.

Whilst I've seen him play I've never paid enough attention to form an opinion and yeah he isn't a big name but we already have Son, Richarlison and Kulu to play in his position so getting a big name for it was always unlikely.

It sounds like he is going to offer a threat /option on either flank and there is room to coach him and improve. Looking forward to seeing him play

Surely this signing indicates one of the centre backs are going to be homegrown, Tosin Adarabioyo I’d suspect.

Really like the look of Solomon.

Not seen too much of him so difficult to say but scored a couple for Fulham. Young, free and don't imagine he'll be on a massive wage so if it doesn't work work out, shouldn't be too difficult to shift. Looks like he has something about him.....direct and able to carry the ball forward. Fulham fan I know seems to think he is a tad lightweight for the league as things stand and needs to work on his strength.

For me, critical area to strengthen is central defence. Likes of of Dier, Davies and Sanchez are nowhere near the quality required and just undermine anything we try and do as a team. Don't think I could take another season of watching them play at CB. If bringing in Solomon on a free means we can put more of our budget this summer towards a couple of quality CB's, I'm absolutely fine with that.

Can't win with some fans.

You sign big name/expensive players then if they flop they bitch about the scouting team and the club wasting money.

You sign cheap, undervalued players and you're small time.

Most of our best transfers in past 20 years were cheap and barely known when we brought them in. Let's at least give Solomon a shot before we say he's the next Pienaar or a "small-club" signing.

Doubt many of us have seen more than a few games of him so not like many people's opinions are based on more than his pricetag.

Seems a no-brainer. If Ange wants him then there's zero downside to this. On a free, wages won't be silly and with a lot of potential. If it doesn't quite pan as everyone hoped it would in the end, he'll be able to get a decent move and us a fee.

Hey, I liked Pienaar. Decent player.
