hopefully Ange will let Son rest by starting Soloman when required instead of starting Son regardless of his fitness/health/form like Conte did

Agreed, but on a minor point of order, we signed Solomon, not Soloman. This is Solo man.

Actually, come to think of it, given this is an Aussie thing, you don't think Ange reckons we've got Solo Man in, do you? Will be a bit of a shock for him when 5ft 7in Manor turns up at the training ground...

He feels like a good option if we're facing low blocks and also to bring on for a tiring forward with 20 minutes to go

If this means that we're saving money to buy some top class defenders then I'm more than happy.

Priorities and all that

This Is a good signing. I don't know much about the lad but he's certainly got some raw talent and ability. Some PL experience with Fulham is a plus too. He's young and will need to work hard to step up, but there's no immediate pressure on him.

He's not got a hefty price tag, so no expectation there. He plays in Son's position too, so won't be expected to make an immediate impact and will probably be used as a rotational option, and to give Son a rest. If he doesn't work out we can still move him on for a profit. Not bad at all.

That CL against Real was top notch. He made the assist for the backheel assist and ran straight on for it and slotted home past three. Love it. He could be great for us 🤍
That's what we want, a young attacking midfielder who had a stand out performance in the CL against Real Madrid. 😉

It's a weird one this. For all his highlights I just don't think he's got much evidence that he can consistently put that together into being a high quality attacking player. Having had a looked through his data it's....really weird.
He dribbles loads (which is good) at a high success rate (which is good) and gets an alright number of shots off (which is good) but creates very few chances for his teammates off the back of those dribbles. I know there is a school of thought which says dribbling basically can't be taught so if you can do that then a good coach can round out enough of the rest of your game.

Then its whether it's worth using a squad space on him. We will have 17 non-HG slots so he will take one of those. We are already over that amount so clubs buying off of us know we have to sell. I worry that getting another non-HG player will weaken our negotiations for both selling the likes of Reguilon and Sanchez but also if we are trying to buy HG players like Tosin. Also, when putting the squad together do we need a third player who's best position is left wing? Will we be able to give him enough minutes to continue developing him?

If we are managing to sign him on wages that we can actually shift in the future then financially it's a no brainer but I'm still not sure it's the best 'squad building' we can do.

I don't think we are any worse than last season for home grown quota at present.

Madison has come in and replaced winks, but he wasn't in our squad anyway, so an extra home grown player really.

Vicario will replace lloris, so no difference.

Solomon will replace Danjuma or Moura, again no difference.

If we get rid of Dier, Sanchez ect and bring in one home grown and one not then again one up on home grown. So would be again better off than last year.

To me he looks a level up from Gil. And solving the problem of a back up winger / impact sub means we could offload Gil and put the fee towards other potential incomings. Looks a great signing.
I honestly think Gil fits better as the back up 10 to Maddison, who could also play out wide if needed.

Depends if we want to integrate any of those out on loan last season but yeah I suppose so.

2 years? Was it not only one year in Korea? Did I miss something :cautious:
It depends on date of birth as well (i.e. if your DOB was just before the official date, you could change by 2 years).
