Fact is Son wont be able to last the whole game so we will need ether Yago or Gil on the bench this weekend assuming Richy will start wide.
Or keep richy left and play veliz as a 9. Paul o keefe says brennan due back after international break so hopefully just luton to contend with

Thats awful luck for all involved. Looking very short now on the left side of attack. Let's hope Ange can get a tune out of Gil - this is likely his best chance of staking a claim in the side.

These are bad injuries as well, for Perisic and Solomon. We're lucky in a sense to only have league matches until the New Year, we absolutely have to keep the core of the team fit because we're losing bench options left right and centre.

I suppose we've got Gil and Sessegnon coming back, Johnson should be back after the break and Bentancur can't be too far off but still... these are not players who have game time under Ange and they'll need easing in.
Lol everyone has really forgotten Lo Celso

Yeah - I suspect it will be Veliz getting a longer cameo this weekend, then Johnson goes back to being the primary attacker to rotate in.

If we are lucky - Bryan gets a few minutes, or we get Santiago in from the U21s.

Cos he is injured.
The post I replied to mentioned Johnson and Bentancur, in addition to the Gil and Sessegnon returning to help beef up a thin squad with now two long-term injuries. Very much relevant and Gio would fit right in with those group of returning players.

Yikes - I get the whole "we need to reinforce", but you can't bank on having this many players either out or struggling.

For our attacking three places, we have:

Son - clearly not 100%
Manor - 2 to 3 months out
Johnson - 2 weeks out
Perisic - out all season
Sess (who could play there at a push) - god knows
Gil - still a bit longer it seems

Only Richi and Deki fit - neither of who are in sparkling form.

So 6 potential players either our or struggling

It's then quite a drop (I would guess) to the likes of Veliz, Santiago and Donley

Will be interesting to see how Ange plays it

Didn't BJ play on the left against Arsenal?

So he can help out covering on the left after the break

Maddison is also carrying a knock.

God forbid anything happens to him!

Simply need a couple of the performing yoof players on the bench and if needs be they get minutes.

Injuries have forced the issue and who knows, they could answer the call if called upon and suddenly we have more depth we didn't previously think we had.

Rather be short in one position (LW) than short in multiple areas…could be worse, we could have Maddison, Bissouma and VDV injured.

The truth is that, apart from:
Sarr - covering CM
Emerson - covering RB
Our various wingers….

The drop off after the first team is stark

Vicario
Udogie
Romero
VDV
Bissouma
Maddison
Son, to an extent

…are all totally cemented as clear first choices.

It’s good, because they’re great players. But the squad is a little thin
