To put it in context, we actually only had him for 11 games. If there's any positivity, Ange might just be able to create another undroppable in Ashley Philips.

Sickener. System can’t operate to its full potential without him. Hopefully not one that affects the way he plays going forward.

Such a blow. I thought we were indestructible with him at the back. He was the get out of jail free card. Hard to see how we keep the same rate of points.

but, in Ange, we trust.

fingers crossed VDV isn’t out for too long

Between Dier, Phillips, Romero possibly and even Davies in a pinch, we'll just have to make the best of it.

Time for a player to possibly step up and stake a claim.

EDIT: Royal, not Romero

We were always living on a knife edge with our defensive options. I was hoping we would have lasted longer. I feel really sorry for the lad, he was on his way to being the best CB in the league this season. His pace alone has saved us countless times. I just hope for his sake it’s not going to leave any lasting damage. I guess now is the time to start looking at our youth options.

The way he pulled up looked really bad. Like when Owen did his against Leeds. He’ll be out for ages. Be interesting to see who he pairs up with Dier until Romero is back. Especially as we play City in one of those games 😫
