Given that Davies has proven to be our best backup CB I wonder if VDV might be given a chance as RCB on an interim basis.

His recovery pace has often taken him to the right side of the pitch where he has done well (tackle on Nketiah comes to mind).

His passing and dribbling angles will be different for him but I guess it’s up to Ange whether it’s worth the gamble over playing Emerson or Dier.

Just hope that injuries, and lack of cover, do not mean we push VDV too early in case he has relapse.

Got to play VdV in his best position when he's back. Davies is playing well but if it means we play Phillips or Emerson instead so be it. Honestly though no excuse not to sign a new centre back who can play right side.

Watching United and they have more success against teams with a high line (Chelsea, Villa).

They are useless against compact teams.

If we go to OT with a high line of Dier and Davies with Hojbjerg and Skipp in front we will give a poor United team opportunities.

If VdV is back and we have a new CB, then that will be a huge boost and give us a chance

8/9 weeks recovery would be the best case scenario going from memory of what others are saying.

Fingers crossed he is a quick healer.

Him and Bentancur back, a new CB signing and we might, should the football Gods allow us a brief respite, just get through this.

Yeah, really just need to kind of avoid any major injuries for a few weeks and we should see it out. Plenty of ability to rotate finally once the injuries let up, which should help curtail some of the injuries moving forward.

Boom. Hope he's eased back. You always feel that with players that quick, hamstrings are a risk.

What a player. Amazing news.
