Right lads let's all stop jumping on the Bentaleb is awful bandwagon after one bad game. The kid was great for us last year, and is only 20. He's an incredibly promising young talent who will be massive for us going forward. This abuse of a 20 year old is embarrassing.

My final thought on him for now, any other club in the premier league who had Bentaleb playing for them, their fans would never, ever shut up about him. We're unique, and not in a good way.

ITK's said at the time of his contract renewal few weeks back that he was looking to be one of the top earners in the team, if not the top earner, no issue with that as long as he is playing like our top player, atm he is anything but

You're saying absolutes like "demanded parity with Lloris" when you've no idea what he asked for or what he signed.

The danger is now that he has got his big fat pay rise and long term contract he will get complacent, not try, think he is billy big bollocks and not work hard, he was shit in the Audi cup and against Man Utd, hope it is just a blip and not because he has taken foot off the gas due to new contract

Before today we were looking for a long term midfield partner for him, now we want him out of the team? We haven't even filled the gap next to him yet. Come on, it was one bad game...

ITK were suggesting/hinting that he was looking for 60k a week and that Levy was offering about 20k less, i mentioned Lloris because he is our best player, i have no idea how much Lloris is on or Bentaleb, only Levy, them, their agents know

Anyone who is writing him off is clueless, he was immense last year and has such a bright future but we have a lot of young players and while they're still learning they will make mistakes, this will be another development season so when things like thid happen we need to not knee-jerk so much and trust in the guys ability to shine through over the length of the season like i'm sure it will.

And you're claiming it was his passing that let him down today? Go back and look at the plays. The pass would have gone straight to Davies but Bentaleb made the wrong DECISION. He will improve.

I'm as mad about the result as anyone given we outplayed them over the full match, and to lose by that mistake is regrettable. But a game + preseason doesn't prove he's a flop, get a grip.

He gave the ball away cheaply with misplaced passes on numerous occasions. Regardless of whether the decision was right or not.

I have not said he was a flop. But nor do I see this potential world class talent he has. I think he'll turn out to be a decent Premiership level central midfielder but will fall short of the required standard of a regular midfielder in a top four Premiership side.

He's a decent player and will improve, but today was not a good day at the office, I can count on 1 hand how many forward passes he made.

I really do think Bentaleb needs an appointment to see an Ophthalmologist - it may be the case he is colour blind and cannot see the colour red - twice now against Man Utd and also against Liverpool he has made passes to team mates and been oblivious to the fact there was an opposition player in a bright red shirt in-between him and said team mate. I'm not joking in this - I just cannot fathom how he couldn't see Mata when he gave the ball away to him for the goal and it only makes sense if he could not actually see him due colour blindness.

He was shit pre season... And against Man U, he was the worst player on field with the most sloppy passes. Ben Davies has to cover him when he left gaps in his area. He is one of top earner and rightly so to be criticized for playing like a Championship player. At this moment, Ali is ahead of him.

Tbh I like each and every midfielder we have at Spurs. But I am not sure any of the pairings are capable of getting us top 4.

We need someone like Bender-a top quality established professional.Even then we arent complete we still need a modric type cm to pair with Bender.

But I guess thats not possible.I would really like to see a pairing of Carroll and Bender(or whichever dm we bring in)

He had a bad game so what it's going to happen on occasion, his 20-21 yrs old, this is the same player end of last season everyone was raving about. He will have bad patches we need to support him, funny how everyone was panicking over his contract a few weeks back.

Last season everyone on here heralded him, no one bad game at OT his written off, we are such brilliant fans. What about if for once us spurs fans man up and say we have got a really talented squad of potential but there young we need to back them rather than one day say there world class then next not good enough to take us where we wanna be. We are not going to compete unless we build long term using our accademy.

At the moment he thinks he is the next Zidaine.... Too full of himself. Drop him for a few games and make him wake up from his slumber. Even Mason and Lamela with no pre season ran their ass off.

Not me... I was expecting the club to sign MS level of signing but in the end we started with Dier which is not the best but way ahead of him in the middle. He protected the right side when Walker was out of position while Bentelab keeps losing the ball in critical position and gets stranded. Ben Davies got to cover his mistakes at least 3 times which is diabolical.

Poch should let him watch the video of his pathetic play 20x a day. This include Eiksen, Chadli strolling back not defending after we lost the ball. Not much had change in their attitude playing top teams.

Swansea played brilliantly against a well drilled Chelsea even a goal down. The pressing was relentless..... I was expecting such a mentality in the second season.

Fucks sake. This is so unfair to give the guy shit. I mean jesus fucking christ. 3 days ago he played 70 fucking minutes in Germany a day after playing 45 minutes in fucking Germany.

Sorry, I forgot though, he lives in a magic mansion which makes you recover magically so he should be able to perform like some sort of super evolved human mutant/android so we should expect him to be able to put in his best performances regardless of preparation or recovery time or any of these things.... Christ. I couldn't give a fuck the players he was playing against also have magic mansions and spent the whole week on the training pitch down the road from where the match was!!! He's got loads of money and stayed in a 5 star hotel in Germany! 5 STARS!!! If anything he should be MORE prepared for the start of the season because he probably had one of those chocolates on his pillow and those beds are dead comfortable! He must of had a GREAT sleep. What a shit player he must be. The wanker.
