That's right, the board deserves praise for doing less than the absolute bare minimum required in this window to make us competitive this season

Been a spurs fan since the 90s. Just old enough to see us win the fa cup.
Other than that one league cup while all our rivals have won the league, champions league and much more. I think we are entitled to bed wetting when we are considered a top 6 club in the PL. Hopefully Porro is a turning point, but I’m still going to rant about how poorly we have recruited in the last 10 years and our lack of trophies.

I would chuck him in there but dont think it wil happen. Emerson hasnt been too bad lately so id be fine with him starting not an issue.

I agree, I would prefer him to start, but what I want to happen and what I think will happen based on the way Conte introduces players into the team will likely mean that he won't start immediately. In the first half before we were almost completely overwhelmed against City in the 2nd half Royal acquitted himself well away to City very recently. That said after 2-3 games in I think that will change and he will be given immediate starts, and subject to him taking to the PL in games like a duck to water, or him being more effective than Doc and Royal, he will be the first choice there going forward.

Finger's crossed but history tells us something very different.

We've been here a million times before.

I'm so happy with Porro and I think he'll be a huge gamechanger for us.

But I feels like we're nowhere near solving our creative/Kulu issue and that big glaring hole in the back line.

So a very average window this far when again its imperative IMO that we excel over the course of a few windows.

Here's hoping though.

as you say, by adding the word 'almost' he's given himself a get out of jail free card to say he's right if we also sign other senior players on deadline day or there's another bolt out of the blue unexpected twist....

I can’t remember when I was this excited, optimistic and downright convinced that a new signing will make an instant impact on our starting 11. Clearly Bentancur and Deki have done so but I wasn’t convinced they would. This just feels like such a perfect fit and I am buzzing. Round peg for a round hole, what is this sorcery!?!

So we were looking to buy him but were stuck over a 2.6m admin fee, Levy rolls his sleeves up, gets involved and we come away having signed him on loan for 5m while paying the rest later?!

Say what you want about the little guy (and we all do) but he does have a certain appeal when he does things like this. ?

Hmmm, with the club not reporting financials now till February and a paratici statement then as well, it seems something is in the offing. Perhaps the QSI investment agreed or something similar for the summer?
