Coutinho earns £240,000 a week and is 28 y/o.

If we buy:
- the fee will be huge
- the wages will be huge
- the resale value will be small

If we loan:
- the loan fee will be large
- the wages will be huge
- their will be no resale value

This is not how DL does business.

PEH cost buttons in football terms and is 24.

That's the type of deal to expect.

Yet we signed Ndombele for a huge fee and pay him circa £200k per week.

28 - get 4 solid years out of him easily.

The best thing about signing Højbjerg is that we have added another leader to the spine of our team. Whilst not the most technical, he is a fierce competitor and a leader on and off the pitch.

There's already rumor in the media that Barcelona willing to cover portion of his wages ... So hopefully his wages will be around 200k or less than that and which will be lesser than what ndombele is earning at spurs ...

Also we signed sissoko for 30m when he was 27/28 years old ... His wage was reportedly 95k and he got payrise in his new contract ... And i certainly think coutinho is a better player than sissoko ..

Ah Dan Sheldon, the fine example of sterling south coast journalism.

He really needs to go learn a trade of some sort. This isn’t his bag.

A bit harsh to be fair, he's clearly being briefed by So'ton who have absolutely no idea how to use the media to bluff (as seen in the past with alderweireld, wanyama, etc.)

Ornstein liked this tweet:

Most of the Southampton based stories following this same path. Maybe like the Ndombele deal where the fee and deal broke a week before it was actually finalized because a lot still had to be worked out. Could be Southampton didn't like this story being out there as they want more money. Could be either are BS. Take your pick.

Jose will turn PEH into an absolute monster. I can't wait to finally have some leadership and real brute strength / desire in the middle of the park!! 3m net spend, beautiful.

I don’t know to much about PEH but is he a c**** just like Jose wanted us to be more like?

That's why I said 'Ornstein liked this tweet' because he is reliable.
He really isn’t. He’s just another Athletic journo who purports to be high brow but is in actuality just as uninformed and lacking in individual thought as all the other muppets. Basically a fancy Paul Jiggins or Neil Ashton.

Levy: "So, we'll just sort out the final bits of the KWP deal straight after these Hojbjerg documents are signed. Okay?"

*Southampton sign papers*

Levy: "So, the KWP fee is now £20m with a 25% sell on fee. Well, you were the ones who asked for separate deals! Thank you for doing business. It's been a pleasure."

Southampton: ?

I like my journalism revelatory and original.

There’s not been a good’un since John Simpson.
