I still like Lamela and Sissoko as bench options.
Fair do’s, that’s your opinion. For me, Sissoko messes up too many attacking opportunities with bad control, bad passes, or bad shooting. Which immediately puts us on the back foot, when in reality, we should have actually scored ourselves. Today he did that weird thing of letting the ball run past him on the edge of their area. Have possession over, which led to their corner, and they scored. Reality is he should have been able to shoot or pass, but did neither. Sometimes all three put together! If we want a powerful midfielder, replacing Sissoko with Kondogbia is the smartest possible move. I like Lamela, but I think now is the best time to sell him. The squad needs fresh faces, and as good as Lamela can be, he’s never really lit the place up.

If he can control a football and keep Sissoko away from our midfield I'm all for this move.

Wihile I appreciate what Sissoko has done for us and think he has improved. He's just not a good footballer and we are too stacked with players that offer physicality or pace/power over finesse and intelligence. ( Not that a CM needs those but a solid technique and better than 50/50 touch would be nice)

Hojbjerg and Kondogbia in, Sissoko, Lamela, Foyth out. Instantly makes us stronger.

You just took the words from my mouth. Nailed on.. Hojberg, kondogbia, kim min jae in, sissoko, foyth, wanyama out would be bloody brilliant.

If lamela is out, we can buy another attacking player in his place though.

Ps: Kondogbia can play as left back as well.

Sissoko is a squad player personally. I wouldn't get rid he is a strong reliable player to come into play in certain games.

Kondogbia would worry me, seems weird he went from Inter to Valencia if hes that good.

Sissoko actually seems to give a shit. That’s pretty important sometimes.

Wanyama left to Montreal Impact in March

Would you take Bruno Fernandes? He went from Novara to Udinese, to Sampdoria to Lisbon onto Man U. Some players do well at different stages of their career.
I wasnt worried about Fernandes as I had seen him play for Portugal and knew how good he was. Plus he was quite young when he went back from Italy.

Haven't see Kondogbia play for a long time which is why I'm asking. Hes not going to be on shit wages and it's important we dont make any mistakes with transfers now.

It is. However I think we have a fair few players now who give a shit and Hojbjerg will certainly be one of those.

What is really important for us to go forward is a midfield that can move the ball quickly, can receive the ball in tight spaces and can be progressive with their passing.

Look at Jose's previous midfields to see what is needed.

Fabregas, Alonso, Modric, Lampard, Joe Cole, Motta, Sneijder, Cambiasso, Essien.

Ndombele has the ability to reach similar levels to some of these but Sissoko is not in this category at all. He's strong, powerful and a good runner but he is unable to receive the ball in the central areas amd make a progressive pass with speed of thought. He needs a touch, he needs to have the ball under complete control before he shifts it.

We won't succeed if we stick with him

I think @gavspur is on the money. Kondogbia for Sissoko would push us closer to that level.

Literally no club is going to be in trying to buy Sissoko. He’s with us till he gets down to 1yr left and is able to leave for next to nothing

I dont know, I think he could do a job for a West ham or an Everton. Both could afford him.

Can't force players to leave, it will be hard to move Sissoko and Lamela for many reasons. Both will probably run down their contracts here, unless Mourinho tells them they won't play a minute. Even then they might try to impress the coach, like Chadli did and stay for another year.
