Looking forward to seeing him and skip as a pair next season. They both have a bit of everything in their game and if they can hit it off it could well be extremely effective. If we go for the double pivot of course.

Could be great. What do people think would be a similar pairing in the EPL, currently or in the recent past, by way of an example?

What I will say is.

I believe this Euros has taken PEH a step further in his carrer. The same happend when he got the armband at Southampton. From a young boy at Bayern who needed to find out who he was, and what he stood for, he needed to take a step back to take two forwards.

The Euros was very special, mainly because of Eriksen, and that did something to PEH, which I think has accelarated his deveolpment as a player even more. When Eriksen was out of the tournament, our star player, others had to step up and PEH took that responsability right away by even taken the penalty against Finland which he even missed. From that one you can either go again or go home. PEH chose the first option and took the game and team on his shoulders. As soon as Denmark switched to 3ATB he took the responsability and carried our team forwards and was more free than ever. He created close to most assist in the tournament and chances, ran his socks off and with his heart raised high.
It was quiet amazing to see, as we have never seen a player do it like that before. He has such a strong mentality to be able to do something like that. He topped it of by being selected for the Team of the Tournament and rightfully so. What a monster performance from our viking. I can't wait to see what he can do next season.

So many people oin here writing him off, they look really fucking stupid right now. You don't do that when you have a real leader in your squad.

Just about to turn 26, so he's approaching prime time. Looking forward to it.

Same here, I think we're really lucky to have him.

I don't think he'll ever be the "best" player in the squad, but he should certainly be one of the first two names on the team sheet, alongside Kane.

Not saying we are going to play every game with the same structure as today but could easily see Hojbjerg and Skipp in the Winks and John roles and then a 3rd midfielder roaming all over the place to make things happen (as Dele tried to do but Ndombele or Lo Celso would probably be able to do better).

Agree
Both hard working CM who can break forward, but their foot in and get a pass forward.

Some games we might get away with just 1 of them, but we could have Ndombele Infront of them (let him drop deeper to pick up the ball if needed) and lo celso wide right (I'm sure he played a few games out there for Argentina)

Thanks.
I was interested in the wording to see if we thought skipp was a back up or not.
More and more I hear and see, the more and more I think they’ll end up sharing two positions worth of minutes with Lo Celso, with position three in midfield being competed for by Dele and Ndombele.

Posted this earlier in the window imagine Ndombele in front of those two freed, to an extent, of defensive duties and able to feed the forwards as we know he can.

Just based on pre-season, but I don’t think any of the CM will be freed of defensive duties at all. It’s been more left and right CMs helping outside, while the central CM helps shield the CBs.

Yes agree with this. It’s actually not been too dissimilar to Liverpool, and actually seems to have suited Dele out as LCM and is quite natural for Skipp at RCM with his athleticism anyway. I reckon Lo Celso will quite like the RCM spot too.

And that's why I said to an extent.
In that position you are surely going be more secure with Hojbjerg and Skipp behind you and they are going to dispossess the opposition more often and get ball to the likes of Ndombele further forward than has been the case so far. He and the others might not have to start from just outside their own box all the time.
Imagine one of our midfielders picking up the ball where Harry Kane has been having to, then having Son AND Kane to pass to.
