Didn’t even consider the Bayern fans and I don’t think they’ll care too much as he isn’t a ‘star’ player. They have great CB’s and are just looking for cover, whereas we have 2 great-but-injury-prone CB’s and desperately need more quality in. Beating Bayern to a player whatever the circumstances is massive, but the main thing is we’ve got a player we desperately need.

I think his aerial presence gives us another option. Some games might be more suited to one pair more than another or maybe we just rotate all three regularly. I'm interested to see if Kelly happens this month as I think he looks like a decent LB back up with his ball carrying, although not sure what his end product is like.

The main thing is we've got the player Ange wanted most and we're only 10 days into the window. Plenty of time to fuck about with other less important deals now. Buy and loan back Nusa anyone?
