Ange said it best - if he wanted to be playing games regularly he would still be at Genoa. He knew what he was coming into…this is the Premier League now. And this is a down fixture year for us. But he’ll get his opportunities next season and I trust he’ll take them

Lack of Europe and cup games is going to make this a frustrating few months for him no doubt.

Then again, injuries, as we're well aware, can quickly overwhelm a squad.

How did the lad play?
Very well. Took one in the crown jewels via the ball, but any time he was asked a question he answered it. I was slightly worried having lost VDV and his pace/power, then Dragusin came on and didn't look out of place. That's probably the best compliment I can give.

Thought he played it simple and worked his way into the game. Noticed his passing was bolder as the game wore on. Best compliment I can give is that he was pretty comfortable and slotted in nicely in VdVs enforced absence (albeit he wasn’t really tested), though I reckon his speaking voice may have gone up an octave.

Unnoticed. Which can only be good for cb.

Very happy for him.

True although must say VDV you constantly notice for all the right reasons.

If Dragusin hopes to be first choice I think it's Romero he'll have to displace, or play if one of the two is injured

His long range passing is actually pretty good and we'll likely see more of it if VDV isn't available for the Fulham game. Overall, good 30+ minutes for him and the possibility to start again on Saturday.

Thought he looked clumsy on the ball and was a little rash with his tackling and decision making. I’m sure it was just nerves (which is completely understandable) but I didn’t think he was great during the time he was on.

I don’t think he looked particularly clumsy but certainly played within himself. I agree, though, that nerves would certainly have played a part.

A few rough edges. He had those two edgy, rash shoves in his early games. Today, he had the yellow, and he didn't execute on a relatively straightforward pass to an open Deki. Doesn't look entirely in control of events. Needs to adjust to the expectations at this level.

McGinn did him a massive favour getting sent off. Not that he wouldn't necessarily have settled and done a good job against 11, but certainly helped him that we could control the game after.
He's had barely any game time, and he'll need some to really settle and get used to the league.

He'll be an excellent addition to our CB options. Next season when he's up and running fully it'll be plug and play with whichever partner next to him.

He played really well - defended well and notably tried a few more longer passes than Romero and VdV with some success
