Reason I think we can get Richarlison and Eriksen plus keep bergwijn and Lucas, with all getting enough minutes next season

However it appears bergwijn definitely wants out, so even if we get Richarlison and Eriksen, we may need another up front player as well as those 2.
If we get Eriksen, would love Gil to just shadow him for the whole pre-season even if we end up loaning him out. There were some moments with Gil where he had touches of Modric in his game but so few and far between in such a sporadic run with us.

Richarlison would fill Stevie’s role but would likely be trusted much more and give us actually rotation/relief. He can cover all three positions which is helpful but if we could find a young striker a bit closer to being ready than someone like Parrott that would be ideal.

One injury away from him being a starter.

So it's better to have a 51mill benchwarmer than a scrub who Conte doesn't trust to rotate in.

Exactly. How many times has Conte intimidated that he’s looked at his bench during games and made no changes as he perceived us to to have the quality on the bench. We are trying to address that.

If Conte loves him then get him in. We’ll have plenty of games to rotate, five subs and injuries to our first choice players so he won’t be lacking minutes.

1/3 for a pretty shit Everton, draws plenty of fouls and can really rile up opponents. I think he’ll be really useful.

To be fair, you could also say 51mio is cheap for a premier league proven player who can cover the top 3. He would be the perfect player for us.

With the amount of games next season, the 5 subs rule and our lack of forward depth, he won't probably actually be warming the bench that much
Yep. The schedule up until the world cup is a disgrace. Its essentially 2 games a week.

£51 million Richarlison for a bench warmer????

If we buy him, it's clearly not going to be as a bench warmer.
I think me and @dontcallme are probably in agreement on this, but to compete next season we need much more than a strong starting XI. We’ll need a strong core of 18-20 that the manager trusts. They’ll all get plenty of minutes with only a handful (Kane, Son, Romero, Dier and Lloris) automatic starters when fit. If Conte sees someone as one of those core 18 then we should expect to pay big money for them, even if they’re not an automatic starter.

I think he’s good but I would prefer someone with better close control dribbling. Quite similar in dribbling style to Sonny but a skilful dribbler would really help in tight quarters against a low block.

Man City had five attackers (Jesus, Sterling, Foden, Mahrez, Grealish) and four midfielders (De Bruyne, Rodri, Silva, Gundogan) who all played over 2500 minutes last season. There’s plenty of playing time to go around, you can’t just have a quality XI and a handful of backups anymore and expect to truly compete without running out of gas.
Can this post be at the beginning of every transfer thread please! Absolutely spot on!

There just aren’t many options out there.

There’s nothing wrong with this guys attitude when it comes to getting it done on the pitch. He’s a bit moody looking etc and dives sometimes but he works his fucking socks off and I guarantee he’ll score goals for us in a number of different positions

Why is Bergwijn only going to be sold for 25m and Richarlison for 50m? :(
Because of the teams buying them.

If good prem teams or Europe’s elite wanted Bergwijn we’d get a good fee. This is a player we want to sell and it appears Ajax are the biggest side that want him. They don’t have much money.
