He’s kind of in between them
but closer to a Rodri than a Kovacic as Kovacic really carries/dribbles the ball forwards a lot whereas Bentancur is much more of a passer/deep lying playmaker type who keeps things ticking over.

As I’ve said before, I watch a lot of Serie A as have Italian family and obviously Juve have featured a ton the last 10 years as they’ve been so dominant.

If you want to get a feel for what I’ve been saying watch the match vs Torino highlights video below.

As I said in my earlier post he’s primarily a combative defensive midfielder (more deep lying playmaker than a destroyer like PEH) who would be an upgrade on PEH, Skipp and Winks.

He’s exactly the functional type of CM that Conte likes. The thing is unless we also strengthen RWB & RW it wouldn’t matter if we put prime Xavi Alonso in our team as we need better attacking movement up top and better threat from our wing backs to open space for combative ball playing CM’s to look good.

But regardless of that he’d simply be an upgrade on what we have for a decent price and he’s an experienced winner.

Juve are going for Zakaria so Bentancur surplus to requirements really / they need to balance the books after also purchasing Vhalovic.

He do for me he passes forward ? seems to have a good passing range aswell excited about this signing. Still nervous it will fall through being Spurs.

If we get that kid of performance on a regular basis he will be a great signing. We have no one that passes and moves and pings those clipped balls into the channels. Fingers crossed.

Based on that video he looks like a bit like a more more well-rounded, physical version of Winks, which would actually suit us quite nicely. Looks comfortable on the ball and a crisp passer, without being spectacular at anything.

Given the lack of composure and technique our players display, having another player like that can only be a good thing IMO, even if he's not going to completely revolutionise our midfield with his soaring talent (look at how that worked out with Ndombele...)

Fwiw (probably very little), 2 of his top 5 best comps on fbref are Busquets and Jorginho. Obviously not that level, but that type of player could be really great for us.

Has it been said Why do they want rid? Didn’t realise he was a regular starter for Juve
The fans want rid of every player in their midfield bar Locateli and Winston. They've got United syndrome, if they're not winning the league the team is full of crap

curlacious

Don’t look at me. I’m irrelevant.

Yes, he looks really cultured here. Just what we need really. Metronomic. Keeps play moving.

Thanks for sharing the video, mate. You get a better understanding of how he plays.

He moves the ball about effortlessly and hits the ball with purpose. Compare that to Hojbjerg who always looks like he's over exerting himself sometimes and can't really play first time passes with pinpoint accuracy.
