Sounds like moves being made to move him on. A shame as I’ve always liked his attitude and I think he’s a good player on his day. But I can see why we’d want to move him on.

He'll probably do great back in Spain but happy to let him go.

Over 2 years he's probably got worse if anything. Certainly not bad player and very high potential but hasn't shown enough under Conte to hold down that LWB spot. If we have aspirations above 4th/5th next season we need someone more suited to the system.

I think real will try and reduce the price given its obvious we want to sell him, but even if we get bank what we paid that’s still good business imo. My only hesitation being if conte left and poch returned I think reg (and Emerson) would suit him well

Reggie has frustrated the hell out of me at times this season.

Genuinely seems to love the club, but the lack of end product, the crossing avoiding everyone in the box and the charge down the wing only to pass backwards has severely stifled our attack.

Has potential but we need more than that!

Would 100% sell at anything above £20m.

My view is that his energy and speed are great but I see an average defender with pretty poor finishing/creativity/decision making in the final third.

I think we can do better and should really only have one of Sess/Regiulon here next season. The fact that most are indifferent between who starts despite neither doing anything of note for us says a lot imo.

A lot of talk of potential, unfortunately at 25 he should have realised the majority of his potential already.

Would 100% sell. He's never once convinced or put in a consistent run of good performances.

Defensively he's average and going forward he fluffs his lines constantly.

If Madrid activate the buy back we have had a right result.

If we could swap him out for Kostic and have a lump of money left over, that's a no brainer for me. I'd do the same with Sessegnon for Sosa tbh, but only because Sessegnon can't stay fit.

not sure they'd be able to. it's a pre-set agreed clause and price isn't it? just like we couldn't increase the price if he was doing well and we wanted to keep him.

They couldn't demand it but it might be acceptable to us to get other deals done.

Yeah, everything he does as a person makes me want to love him. And most of what he does with the ball, makes it harder.

Not a bad player but that transfer fee has always bothered me.

Just as we did with Royal, we assumed anyone we sign from the Spanish big 2 must be worth huge money.

With Emerson we overpaid by about 3 times his worth, with Reguilon I’d say double.

Yeah it’s weird as when we first got him he made some cracking runs down wing and some of his crossing was next-level.

Although oddly his crossing worked best when Bale was playing and running into middle - I know they’re buddies but it was kinda strange! ??

He seemed ideal for a wing back but it just hasn’t clicked.

Conte's wing backs aren't required to come from deep. Which I think plays to Reguillons strengths more. When the field is stretched and he runs from deep into the space.

He likes them to play and stay high up the field. This is a problem for Reguillon because his technique/touch isn't delicate enough to play in tight spaces.

Conte had Perisic at Inter and Alonso at Chelsea. Alonso isn't a great defender but his ability at crossing, close touches and set pieces make him a good option. Whereas Perisic is typically a winger so possessed those attributes anyway.

Reguillon is more of a "rush of blood to the nose" type, whatever he does has to be quick. Whether it's carrying the ball, crossing from the byline or passing inside, it always feels rushed. We need a more composed player in this role.

Yeah, that last point is key. Regs does seem like the sort of player where having more time on the ball actually leads to a worse result - over thinks it or panics. Shame as I do love the way he approaches the game - great enthusiasm and passion. Just can't see him making it in a conte system.
I do think we'll get good money for him. And, can see him go on to good things esp in Spain.

Bad news.. And we stuck with the two bad WBs for the rest of the season. Not that Reguilon is any better, but he does have more drive in him than Sess.

I don't mind keeping him as long as we bring in a really good and talented or world class LWB in the summer. Reguilon as a deputy is alot better than someone deputising Reguilon..

Starting to really believe he's checked out already.

He was fit prior to the last game, only for Conte to tell us that he said he was feeling something in the warmup?

Have a feeling RM have told him/his representatives that they'll execute their purchase option.
