I'm not.

Tanganga is as much a left back as Hojbjerg is a RB.
Disagree.

For the defensive role that Jose seems to want the LB to play (like Davies) I thought Tanganga actually did an excellent job. Was really pleased with his performances and was disappointed that due to his injury he didn't get to play more.

Playing RB (I think in the cup replay against Middlesbrough), Tanganga looked quite secure and at times adventurous. Looked quite capable and could fit in as one of our back ups (similar to Pochs plans for foyth).
At LB away to Watford, he was all at sea. Sarr constantly attacked him, turning him inside out. He looked totally uncomfortable there. Of course you could argue that Sarr destroyed the best defence in the league, but either way it was a game in which we dropped points due to our lack of security in our back four.
Not sure if Tanganga played any other games at LB, but that game was not an example of defensive security.

If we do go after Reguilon it blows a big hole in Mourinho's 'plan' to use Sessegnon at LB.

This is a good point. We’ve been told that Jose is happy with sessegnon and impressed with Cirkin. Adding reguilon (or even tagliafico) means someone has to leave (Cirkin on loan ideally). But with presumably Davies and a new LB, there’s no room for sessegnon at LB.
Does this interest put an end to the debate about his position?

I agree. I think when Tanganga played RB and LB he impressed, although when he found himself centrally in one v one situations his was found a little wanting due to inexperience. I think his immediate future (next two years) will be as a FB. Against Liverpool in particular he was fantastic at RB, similar against Middlesborough in the FA Cup. I'd happily have him as backup for both LB and RB.

I’ve not seen much to suggest Sessegnon is ready to start at LB or on the wing at this point.
He needs a good season on loan probably at a championship club to regain some confidence imo

I don't see much point in him going back to the Championship. What he needs is what Sissoko was giving to Aurier to enable him to play offensively from LB, but he won't get that with Ndombele, Winks and Son in front of him on the pitch.

There’s still a lot of mention of us wanting to play the lop-sided back four with left back tucking in but may have been case of Mourinho just adapting to what he had?

Signing Doherty he may indeed still want to carry on with that, although he may also feel now with Højbjerg in there and providing a better shield to back four that we can afford to have two offensive full backs.

Although does seem he will go back to 4-2-3-1 with Dele in there so that may give defence less protection than a 4-3-3 with Højbjerg, Winks and Lo Celso in front of it.

Personally I’d like to get this fella in as we do need to improve our full back options and simply can’t afford to hope Sessegnon establishes himself as a left back.

I think a championship loan would have the opposite affect. He’s already proven himself in that league winning young player and player of the season. He moved to us because he was ready for the step up. Sending him back on loan to a championship club would shatter his confidence.

From what I’ve seen he doesn’t warrant a place in the side ATM and the championship is a good place to build up some confidence as a failed loan to a premiership side could ruin him

This makes no sense whatsoever. How is he meant to reach a high level if we send him back to a Championship club and he can't test himself against Premier League teams? In fact he's already had a full PL season with Fulham, so a Championship loan would literally be 3 steps backwards.

It’s a stepping stone of learning, he is not ready for the premiership imo he couldn’t even get into a relegated Fulham team 2 seasons ago and is nowhere near ready to start for us and I fear if he is loaned out to a premiership side they will quickly realise he is not ready too and will not play

Started 2/3 of Fulham's games in the PL.

sorry, what?

Sessegnon played the first 15 or so games for Fulham when they were in the premiership and did very little and played a subs role after that and never impressed throughout that season.
Sessegnon is a young player with potential and I want he to fulfil it with us but he has really only had a one good season in the championship

You are literally factually incorrect, he started 8 of their last 10 games - have a look for yourself if you can be fucked. You're mugging yourself off.
