Before selling Son, I would sell Kane tbh. Goal-scoring Wingers are hard to find and Bergwjin is nowhere near Son in terms Goalscoring ability. If really we want to sell before buying, We need to look at selling Lamela, Dele, Moura, Sissoko and Kane before touching Son.

I think players like Victor Osimhen, Milik or even Ings can negate the selling of Kane. Only downside of selling Kane, he is homegrown and club trained player. Whereas I can't find one single player who can give us what Son is giving at this moment in terms of goals and assists output. Bergwjin atleast need two more season by the looks of it and I can't see Bergwjin scoring the kind of goals that Son can score.

Was thinking that Son's time might be coming to an end at Spurs. Many complain at us not successfully cashing in on Eriksen at the right time.

Son is 28 tomorrow and Bergjwin looks able and ready to take his place.

So this summer or next will be the premium time to cash in before he declines.

Son is still one of our best players and would love him to stay an extra season but if we need a rebuild then we'll need to cash in on a few players while their price is at a premium.
I kind of agree and i think its to be expected that in order to do the rebuild some sales will have to be made. Question is who in this climate is going to pay Levy type fees for a 28 year old? I just cant see it.

I don't think we should be selling Son at all, but if we were to entertain the idea no club in the world will be in a position to pay £80+ million on a 28 year-old winger - even as prolific as he is.

If teams have to spend big I think they will opt for younger options.

Thing is there are still wealthy clubs spending money. Juventus never seem to have a problem with paying out for a player who is ageing. Son is highly rated in Europe and in the Prem. Plenty of big sides would definitely be interested in him.

I've got to be honest, we've got to keep as many of our best players as possible. Kane will be gone by next summer and if Bergwijn shines who knows if he like many others will do the I need to move to a bigger club card.

This is just falling into the trap of Enic/Levy seeing players as commodities where we sold Walker at a similar time in age /career and look where he's fallen...
I think almost everyone agrees that Walker wanted to leave and Poch was happy to sell him, why anyone would blame Levy or ENIC for that sale is truly beyond me.

Bigger clubs are happy to buy players in their prime, they are not always looking for value for money.

How comes when it comes to our bigger ticket players other teams who covert them, in the eyes of some, then won't pony up to pay for them?

You either want them or you don't.

Son's a day short of being 28, he has at least 3 more years at the top of his game and some wants to cash in already?
Even if we get top money for Son, do you really think all that money will go back into the transfer kitty or we buy a player who will give us Son's League goals (who will likely to cost big money)?
This season - 9 goals
Last season - 12 goals
17-18 season - 12 goals
16-17 season - 14 goals

My favourite player who is suffering in the same way harry kane is. We look devoid of forward thinking and its suffocating them.

I'd never sell him. He is so talented, can play as a striker effectively aswell , seems like a wonderful guy and is the commercial department's dream.

Not sure about that. Aurier was highly rated and the general feeling was Poch was in favour of his signing.
Aurier was dismissed by our scouts but Levy thought he could get him on the cheap. Levy has always been too involved in the football side of things.

Levy should not have his own special advisor on transfers. No other Chairman has so much say in who their club is targeting and yes he got Modric on the cheap and it worked but we have had more misses than hits. Then there is the chase of a deal which is just impossible. We spent a summer chasing Isco and got Sissoko.

Before we rush to sell one of our key players, let's not forgot how much revenue Son brings to the club via the fans in Asia. He is likely our most lucrative star, and this impacts other commercial deals.

All the same noises in here as there were with Eriksen - then the contract gets run down and you get peanuts.

Every player has a price - team over individual.

We're all the way back to Levy/ENIC in this instance.

Haha wow... I don't get the view of even entertaining selling son.

We aren't in a position to sell our star players and we certainly aren't in a position to recruit star players.

For a squad that is devoid of talent in certain areas surely we should be focusing on those than selling where we are strong.

Sons not having the best time but that's our entire squad at the moment.

Your singular point of blame for everything is very obvious.

There were reports at the time that Poch wanted Aurier but you will ignore that and put all blame into Levy. But at the same time probably give no credit for the good signings.

Fickle? No one wants to sell because they don’t rate him.

Just that now might be the right time to sell.

Fickle, most fans don’t know what the word means.
