He'll do very well for Ajax.

Good player who probably came to us at the wrong time.

Right time but wrong manager.

Mourinho killed his confidence.

If Poch was in charge it probably would have gone differently - but it’s all just hypothetical now.

Why? If you look at his numbers at PSV he was on an upward trajectory of scoring goals when we signed him. The Dutch league is obviously easier than the prem. And with Ajax being the dominant team there is no reason why he can't score more than 15 league goals. With Haller moving on I suspect he might be played through the middle a fair bit as well, which will only increase his chances of hitting the net.

Mostly because from what I’ve seen from him, he’s an alright player but doesn’t have that special something to grow into a top player. His finishing is hit and miss and as good as he’s been for holland he never showed that consistently when given a run in the team.

15 goals is a lot in any league and if he gets that at Ajax it’ll be a big contribution for them and money well spent. I just think that’ll be his level though.

good player but was always going to be difficult for him to get regular game time this season after we were knocked out of the cups. must have been tough for him moving to a new country and so quickly after that lockdown started, i got the feeling he just wants to go home and be closer to family

I just haven't seen enough to suggest he's a good enough finisher. No doubt he has talent, but I think the Dutch league will suit him where he will get lots of chances playing for Ajax. In the PL chances are at a premium and he missed too many, or just didn't have the movement or intelligence to find the right spaces to sniff out chances.

Kulu has already shown better finishing ability AND the ability to sniff out chances, right place right time. He's also scored quite a few from distance. I think Berg only scored 1, on his debut.

Always said Bergwijn is class, and i think we will regret it, not given enough chances over a long period. He is a player that need confidence and more gametime, but has not been given that at Spurs.

Lets see. hopefully we have a good sell -on clause.

Felt quite sorry for him while he was here at Spurs. Burst onto the scene with that goal against City on his debut only to get injured two months later.

Then for the bulk of the season after Mourinho played him as an auxiliary right back and never seemed to forgive him for his misses against Liverpool. He started well under Nuno when Kane was out of the team, however never really impressed Conte enough to start consistently - quite mad when you consider how limited his chances were after that Leicester game.

Ajax is a good move for him and I am sure he will be back in a top league in a few years.

Good luck to him, think he'll do really well there.

Jose ruined him and only ever saw glimpses after. But can see theres something there....always thankful for that Leicester game!

Thought he was unlucky not to get more minutes last season. But obviously just wasn't right for Conte.

Never forget the City and Leicester games though, and good luck to him.

Fair enough.

Although he scored 14 league goals the season before we signed him, in a PSV team that weren't on the same level as the Ajax team he is joining. He's arguably a better player now, so I will be massively shocked if he doesn't reach at least the same total next season.

Nothing but good will and good wishes for him.

Didn’t exceed nor fall below what I think we expected of him, maybe didn’t score as many as he would have liked, but he did score some absolutely crucial goals.

Hope he enjoys being back in the Dutch league and goes on to smash it ?

Sorry mate, but I have to disagree. Mourinho started him very well, even in AON documentary he was very please with him when he signed and even met his family then. He scored on his debut against Citeh, how was his confidence killed? He's just not consistent himself way after and did not recover since an injury I think where his speed was greatly affected. I think he did not settle well in London. He's not a starter under Mason, Nuno and even Conte. Blaming solely on Mourinho was really unfair.

All the best Stevie - he always was a likeable lad. We had a some great moments but it became quite apparent early on it just wasn't the best fit.

He'll do fine at Ajax. But I do not see him at a big club in one of the big 3/4 leagues, scoring loads of goals in the future. He isn't that good and personally I don't think his ceiling is much higher than he's already shown. We've done well to make our money back and a little extra on the transfer.

Its funny how fans often have very simplistic explanations to very complex scenarios. Oh X happened ? Its due to Y only.

Mourinho apparently also shot down Ndombele's confidence but it took just 1. 5 month for him to be thrown out of Conte's plans. Mourinho even went above and beyond to help Ndombele especially during the pandemic times working personal sessions with him.

Watch him bang in 30 this season and get a move the next summer to a top European club.
honestly wouldnt be surprised - Ajax have just done the same with Haller (to Dortmund, not that top echelon of club but still decent) having picked him up as unwanted from the hammers. Quite how far he gets is tbc but the ceiling is high imo.
